Leaders, Let's Do More to Help Vulnerable Children Who Have to Work Because of Domestic Violence

Many around our world are living in such tragic conditions and these almost forgotten ones need their plight to be highlighted more and more - even it means the reaction of some will be - O no not again - we have heard all that! One reason for so much trouble is the curse of alcohol. In some nations it is made secretly. In Scotland it is bought cheaply. The adverts for alcohol never show you the tragic consequences of misuse and abuse. How can such a young girl get the education she...

Got Turmoil?

I occasionally have the privilege of sharing ideas on leadership team building and effectiveness with graduate business students. Part of our dialogue involves a scenario where the members of the class, few of whom, if any, work in a senior role, get to "experience" what it's like to be part of a leadership team faced with a serious business problem. Through the exercise, they learn a lot about the possible consequences of their actions and decisions on the organization.

The Characteristics of Bad Leadership

When the Israelites requested that they wanted a king to rule over them and rejected the theocratic reign of God, God gave them Saul son of Kish as their king. It was God's decision to continue to rule the Israelites through a human representative. Later, God rejected Saul as unfit to continue to rule the Israelites. Why was Saul's leadership condemned?

The Five Leadership Qualities

In history, there have been various definitions of what a leader is. Some theories associate leadership with certain traits that can be observed right from childhood. Some people think that a leader is forged by the fires of need and that great leaders will rise when the situation calls for it. Some people think that leaders are determined by their actions when they are given the responsibility of leadership.

Leaders Make Leaders Just As Sheep Make Sheep and Good Leaders Can Inspire an Entire Community

There are so many people around our world in such dire circumstances that they need our prayer support and whatever material and physical help is available. I remember seeing those on the refuse tips in Nairobi on my way to teach in one of the slums on the south east of the city at Pastors and Leaders Seminars so that those in leadership might be able to help others with such massive problems. I wish I could take you to see these people who have had a large water tank built.
