Project Shakti - A Win Win Situation

There's incredible potential in rural markets. Started in the late 2000, Project Shakti had enabled Hindustan Lever to access 80,000 of India's 638,000 villages. Hindustan Lever was not the only company recognizing the vast marketing potential in rural India. With 12.2% of the world population residing in the villages of India, the country's rural FMCG market had a huge potential. When HLL shifted to the rural India, it faced many problems.

Canadian Influences on American Culture

Very few countries that share borders also share as much in common culturally as do Canada and the United States of America. The most obvious cultural common ground between the two countries is our use of the English language, although many parts of Canada also rely on French as the main form of communication. But our common traits run much deeper than just language, and in many cases Canadian influences on American culture are just as profound as the other way around.

Sarkozy Starts Visit to Israel

The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, begins a three-day visit to Israel on Sunday in what the press back home is reporting as further proof of an improvement in relations between the two countries. It'll be only the third time a French president has visited Israel, and Sarkozy is likely to have a far more conciliatory tone than his predecessors. That shouldn't be too difficult.

Zimbabwe - We Have Bullets For Each of You

One of the latest threats being made to Zimbabwe people who might be contemplating voting for anyone other than Mugabe in the forthcoming presidential election runoff is, "...we have bullets for each of you..." In fact the electoral process in Zimbabwe descended into farce last week, when Mugabe declared that he would never allow Zimbabwe to be ruled by Opposition Leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.

Embarrassed Barack Obama Angry Over Americans on Foreign Travel

Recently, Barack Obama got angry over Americans for embarrassing him as he could not speak foreign languages while traveled abroad and moreover for the reason that we force Europeans to speak English when they come here. It is not easy to understand why he says so. Does he have any political interest or it is quite difficult for him to accept the fact? No matter how humiliating he finds Americans' monolingual ways, but there are plenty of reasons that it is perfectly alright for...

Fighting Terrorism With Education

Problem: In many undeveloped Muslim countries education is not widely available to all citizens. Many of the boys and young men in these countries get their education in small religious schools called madrasas that teach a strict fundamentalist interpretation of Islamic law to their students. Militant Islamic extremists use these schools as a vehicle for recruiting potential terrorists.
