How to Recognize Low Calorie Foods

Can you recognize a low calorie food? What makes it low calorie? Are there similarities between one of these foods and another? It's easy to recognize fat on a steak or on bacon, but not so easy to recognize the invisible fat in a cupcake or a cookie. Lowering Cholesterol by Reducing Stress

Lowering LDL Cholesterol with Plant Sterols and Stanols

Foods with plant stanols and/or sterols added, for example some margarines, can lower blood cholesterol levels by reducing the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines. Most people consume 200-300 mg of plant sterols and stanols through eating vegetables and fruits as part of their normal daily diet. Studies prove that it takes at least 1.8 - 2 grams a day to obtain the cholesterol lowering effect.
