We are all human. Humans m ke mistakes. Thus, everyone makes mistakes. H wever, did you stop to realize th t just one mistake can blind you to very good thing that someone else has ver done? Just one mistake! Holy Wr t, aka the Holy Bible, tell us th t even Jesus ignored all the g od things the rich young ruler had d ne just to magnify a single fl w. Why? Because a single mistake can d stroy all the benefits that "good" had lready accomplished. Yes, everyone falls short. H wever, It's the Great Ones that get b ck up. People often destroy th mselves, sabotage their future and fall part. They do idiotic things and m ke ridiculous decisions. Why? Often t mes, in fact the majority of t me, it's because that person did not get any c unsel before making a decision. H ly Writ, aka Holy Bible, tell us: "Wh re there is no counsel the p ople fall." (Prov. 11:14) There are ther ways people can destroy themselves. In our q est for personal motivation or self mprovement, let's look at a few: * P ople are unwilling to admit a m stake. People are so filled with pr de they won't admit they did s mething stupid. Non Catholics scoff at C tholics because they believe in confessing th ir short comings or their sins. In r ality, the power of confession is mazing. Holy Writ, aka the Holy B ble, tells how confession moved a man n med Zaccheus from a 'nobody' to a 'd sciple of Jesus' . . .all in j st a few minutes!
* How many parents do you kn w that permit their children to sh w disrespect to others? Who openly l ugh at their parents feeble attempts to get th ir attention? Who are a terror to ther shoppers when taken to the s permarket? Even some of the best of "Chr stian" parents are guilty! You c n't compel your children to follow G d, but you have every right to c mmand them to follow YOU. Following God b come their choice. There should be NO ch ice when it comes to following wh t YOU say! Set down guidelines for y ur children to follow and compel th m to be followed. In H ly Writ, aka the Holy Bible, t lks about this in Genesis 18:19, s ying, "I have chosen him in rder that he may command his s ns and his descendants to obey me and to do wh t is right and just. If th y do I will do everything for him th t I have promised." This is a c nversation that God had with Abraham. In th t God is no respecter of p rsons, it is applicable to EVERYONE! Hmmmm! P rhaps there was a massive misprint at the p blishing company and that specific Scripture was ccidentally omitted. Without question, if some p rents would learn and allow this v ry simple, basic scripture to be a g ideline in their lives there would be no n ed for a "nanny" to come nto their home and show them the v ry basics of child discipline, all the wh le rendering the pitiful parents to tter disgrace before millions of TV v ewers! * Many of today's "Christians," tr vialize the importance of the Holy Sp rit in their daily lives. They s em to try with their "minds" to do wh t can ONLY be done, by GOD, via th ir heart, with the help of the Sp rit of Holiness. There is a big d fference between the Spirit-Life and the M nd-Life. To live a "prayerless" life is n thing short of Arrogance! * People are nfaithful to the House of the L rd, the Church, saying, "I can s rve God at home." However, their ttitude about life reveals they haven't b en serving Him at home. Holy Wr t, aka The Holy Bible, in H brews 10:25 says, "Do not forsake the ssembling of ourselves together." However, when it c mes to choosing the House of the L rd, or Church, that you will ttend, don't choose just 'any' for the s ke of being able to be ble to say, "I went to Ch rch." A House of the Lord, or H use of Worship, or Church, should be a pl ce where the Spirit of Holiness is llowed FULL operation.
* People often go to a ch rch simply because it's "nearby" their h me. Even if it means dr ving a few miles it is v ry important to choose a church wh re God's Holy ANOINTING is allowed to perate. Choose a church where Praise and W rship is directed by the moving of the H ly Spirit, and not by the p rson in charge saying, "let's turn our hymn b oks to page 955 and sing . . . . " The s me old dead, dry song that is s ng every time the church doors pen. God's musical creativity is not llowed in some churches: "The beat has g tta GO!" Meanwhile, the younger generation g es seeking a place to exercise th ir God given musical creativity; even if t's with a local Rock Group who s es nothing wrong with sucking on a 'j int' to help enhance or bring f rth the "beat" that lies deep w thin. * People do not seek WISE C unsel. Seek counsel and seek a C unselor who bases the advise being g ven on Holy Writ, not on p rsonal opinion. Don't give up searching for a G dly Counselor. * Don't Ignore Opportunities. Ev ryone is known for two things in th ir lives: (1) The problems you cr ate -or- (2) The problems you s lve. Remember, every problem has a g lden door to recognition and reward. If you are sking God for a promotion, be c rtain that He will schedule a G liath! The question is: how are you g ing to handle your Goliath? * D n't walk away from opportunities! God has g ven everyone their own path of FAVOR. Y ur Dreams, your Ideas, your Creativity, y ur Accomplishments will happen on YOUR p rsonal path of FAVOR. Learn to r cognize it. Most of the time, nless we are truly "blind" to s lf, we really don't "need" someone lse to point out our own sh rt comings. There is a "s ed" that is planted in each one of us, by our Cr ator. When we start to say or do s mething that we should not say/do, th s little "seed" will "speak" to us dmonishing us not to say/or do. Th t little "seed" is none other th n our own "consciousness" attempting to g ve us the guidance that we n ed at that exact moment. That l ttle "seed" is the the part of God H mself that He has instilled in ach one of us! We can l sten to that little "seed" and h ed what we are being told and we w ll find that that little "seed" w ll actually begin to GROW within us. Th t "goodness" will gradually get bigger and b gger within, guiding us along our own p rsonal POSITIVE PATH OF FAVOR. On th s positive path of favor good th ngs will happen, doors of opportunity w ll swing open. This is where we m et success. This is where we b come known as a person that is a pr blem solver. You solve your own pr blems as well as the problems for thers. However, on the other hand we can s mply ignore when that "seed," our own c nscious speaks to us. We can go on and say or do wh tever "we" started out to say or do. In a v ry short time we will be kn wn as a person that creates pr blems. . . for ourselves and for th se around us.
