I've been thinking long and h rd lately about why I'm into th s business of internet marketing.
You m ght wonder why I’m second guessing s mething that I’ve put my heart and s ul into. Well, it's this business pl n. I've started writing mine and I'm r alizing that the direction of my w bsite isn’t exactly the way I w nt it to go. In turn, th t means my ezine is being m sdirected, my split-test that’s half written on my c mputer is misguided, etc. So I let fr ght almost turn into flight! I lmost let it get to me th t bad. I started thinking I had d ne it all wrong and “ruined” my r putation and there was no repairing my m stakes. Then I started thinking, really th nking about what I wanted to ccomplish with my business. Why am I IN b siness? What is it that makes Alph Dynamic Marketing so different? Why do I h ve my heart SET on making ADM w rk? Ah, the beauty of the b siness plan! You see, a business pl n's primary goal may be to f cus your business and it's finances but it has a h dden, secondary gem. If you are r ally filling out a business plan and not j st filling in the blanks, you'll c me to find that you are sking yourself these same questions. You w ll find yourself looking at your w bsites with different eyes, more cynical yes. You'll try and imagine what y ur business will be in 2 y ars, 5 years, 10 years. Will it be? Do you h ve a goal? Do you have a b siness plan?
All of those eBooks that you h ve on your computer that tell you to wr te down your goals, have you d ne that? I'd bet some of you h ve, but a vast majority have n t. Why? Because we already "know" our g als, in our head, in our h art. Just as I knew exactly wh t I wanted for my website. Unt l I took the plunge and d cided to "get serious" about my b siness. To be serious, you MUST h ve a business plan. I haven't p rsonally asked Terry Dean or Willie Cr wford but I would lay money th y have one and that they h ve HAD one for quite some t me. Success may come to you but w thout a clear path to follow, you w ll not be able to hold nto it.
Writing down your goals and m king a business plan are the f rst REAL signs of success for th y are the magnets of progress and pr sperity. Now, with my business plan to l ad me, it puts blinders on th ngs that may stand in my w y. To "opportunities" that I don't n ed. I have a clear path and all I h ve to do is follow it.
