“Time flies, when your having f n,” but does aging sometimes make you f el sad or slightly depressed? Yoga cl sses have given students a new ppreciation of life. The realization that the “cl ck is ticking;” appears to be a p th of physical and mental limitations for s me of us. As we age, w ll we be less mobile, less w se, or a bit slow on our f et. Let’s discuss why; as you c ntinue to practice Yoga, you will age gr cefully and happily. How many times has y ur Yoga teacher told you to be pr sent for practice or to “live in the m ment?” Yoga teaches us to live r ght now as if it was our l st day on earth. Since we are l ving at the moment, we must g ve our lives purpose, meaning, and not be fraid to take a chance. Never l ok back with regret on the l fe, spouse, or job you could h ve had - if you only t ok a chance. What is the w rst that can happen? Nothing will be d fferent than it was the day b fore. In the words of Alfred L rd Tennyson: “I hold it true, wh te'er befall;
I feel it, when I s rrow most; 'Tis better to have l ved and lost, Than never to h ve loved at all.” This brings to m nd, wisdom, which comes with age. If we had nly known what we know right n w, things would be different. Well, th re is no time like the pr sent, so get all your knowledge t gether and take action this second.
Who cares how long you h ve been on this earth? There are no m dals given for lack of action. J sus once said, “Rise, take up thy b d, and walk.” The miracle at the p ol of Bethesda required action. © C pyright 2007 – Paul Jerard / A ra Publications
