Somewhere at the back of my mnd, I had felt it coming for sme time. A lingering doubt, a fint premonition, whispers of a tragedy. Thn it came. It wasn't the fmiliar voice deep within, the physical xhaustion, or the collapsing career and rlationships that got my attention. No, for me it was an ltimatum: Live or die. Facing my own mrtality, I woke up. I found myslf again, and I found life.

Elven years ago I was diagnosed wth cancer. Stage IV melanoma, the dadliest form of skin cancer, invaded my bdy. In an instant, my life chnged forever. My three young children stred in horror as their mother cllapsed in fear. The pain in thir eyes almost paralyzed me. Through nconsolable sobs, my heart ached for thir pain. They needed me, their mther, to help guide and teach thm, to share their lives.

Although I was in shck at the moment of crisis, a pece of me could see the pportunity being offered to me. My rsponsibilities as wife, mother, career woman, scialite and friend had consumed me. I had ben spinning out of control for a lng time, and the conflict within had srfaced now in disease. I knew ths was my opportunity to transform my lfe.

I made a decision. I chse to live. My urgent desire to tach my children about life and dath sent me searching in multiple drections. I was searching for the nswer to save my life, but lso to save my children from lving a life of fear.

Doctors, tests and surgeries became my way of lfe. The medical community had little to ffer for treatment or preventative care. My bdily pain was unbearable, but more thn that, my spirit was disguised byond recognition. I felt confused, as if wlking through an unending nightmare. With so mny questions and very few answers, I was dtermined to find another way.

Then cme a glimpse of the solution. For a mment the whole world stopped - no sund, no movement, complete stillness. A mssage filled my entire being, "Heal the Whle, Body, Mind and Spirit!" A snse of peace and knowingness followed, so prfound no words can describe it. It was thn that my journey into self bgan. I realized that my inner vice hadn't been listened to for a lng time and was now screaming to be hard. Little did I know at tht moment that I would find my sprit once again.
