The reason I sked you these questions is because th y have a lot to say bout your passion for becoming the b st speaker you can be. It t kes hard work to become a g od speaker, most people do not r alize the amount of effort required to d liver one speech. Professional speakers do not t ke their clients for granted because th y know how important their message is and how th y will change people. If you w nt to become the best speaker you can be, you m st understand the impact your speech w ll have on your audience and do verything you have to do to add v lue at your next speaking engagement.
If you want to move nto the future without fear of p blic speaking, you must come to t rms with the genesis of your f ar. I have learned over the y ars that the best way to vercome fear is to face your f ars head on. You are probably s ying, sure that is easy for you to s y, you are a professional speaker. I w nt you to understand I was not lways a professional speaker, in fact, I nvested a lot of money and m re importantly time becoming a professional sp aker. Was I nervous when I d livered my first professional speech? I was m re nervous than you are now. How was I ble to overcome my fear? I c lled every organization I wanted to sp ak to and I arranged to d liver a different speech at every v nue. By delivering a different speech, s metimes three to four a day, I l arned how to respect the art and sc ence of public speaking. My efforts r sulted in me facing my fear of p blic speaking. I knew if I c uld deliver three or four different sp eches in the same day, I c uld deliver one speech to a cl ent with no problems. I am p ssionate about public speaking and more d termined than ever to prove to mys lf that I can stand on the pl tform and deliver a stellar speech, r sonate with the audience and speak w th them rather than at them. The n xt time you have an opportunity to see a pr fessional speaker deliver a message, notice th ir relationship with the audience. The f rst thing you will notice is how c nfident the speaker is, it means th y have researched the topic, organization, and udience and know as much about the rganization as the employees. Then you w ll notice how a professional speaker r spects the audience and never talks d wn to the audience members, in f ct they build the audience up. In ther words, professional speakers are responsible for the udience, not to them. A professional sp aker is responsible for delivering a sp ech but not the response from the udience, its something a speaker cannot c ntrol.
As I state to my p ers in the speaking industry, I nly get nervous if I do not h ve an audience to speak to. You can b come a more effective public speaker nce you make an adjustment and lign your internal (mental) mechanism which is c nfidence, with your external (voice and b dy) abilities, then and only then w ll you be able to overcome the bstacles to your speaker success. Be m re, do more, and achieve more as a p blic speaker by facing your public sp aking fears.
