Studies have shown that more w men suffer from stress-related illness than m n. Why? Well one answer is th s: “If you need anything done ask a b sy woman.” From the beginning of t me, women have been the gatherers. W men are responsible for too many d ties. They shop for groceries, cook the m als, clean the home, look after th ir children, wash the clothes, carpool the k ds to and from school, become nvolved in school activities, join the PTA, w rk part or full time and yet for s me there seems to be this “ t’s all in a day’s work” b as towards women. There are reasons why th re are more stress-related incidents among w men more than men. Research indicates th t men articulate their feelings more th n women. They rant and rave and let out all of the p nt up energy. Whereas women internalize and k ep things bottled up inside until it r leases itself in a stress-related health c ndition. Moreover, most men aren’t home all day t king care of the house and the k ds and the cleaning and the sh pping. Many come home after a d y’s work at the office and t ke a few minutes to unwind fr m their day. Women rarely do th s and sometimes feel selfish for d ing so, whereas men feel the n cessity to unwind and just go for it.
Women rarely have a chance to ngage in a hobby, and if th y do it is after the ch ldren are put to bed. In ddition, women, who work part time or f ll time, especially with young children at h me or at day care, have a str ng desire to be with the ch ldren. Yet the bills need to be p id and work for them is not a pl asure but a necessity. Thus, more str ss is added. Recent studies have ndicated that more women are working at h me than ever before. This gives th m ample opportunity to spend quality t me with their children, and still be ble to work and tend to the h me. In most cases, women opt to w rk in the educational system that llows them to have all holidays off as w ll as two months in the s mmer. In addition their hours are l mited, and they can spend more t me with the kids and take c re of the home as well. The nternet has opened an opportunity for w men to work from home and t ke care of their kids. Check for the pportunity to start a business from h me. Think also to start an nline business. Connect with moms that are d ing it and give it a try. Th re is lots of information on deas on how to start a b siness. You have to work, study the nformation to achieve success, but is w rth it. I wish I had d ne it before. Now I am w rking part time and trying to d velop an online business for retirement. My son h lps me. We have fun together and I got to sp nd more time with him. Both men and w men suffer from stress but to the d gree that women have more stress is c rtainly understandable considering all they have to do. P rhaps if women were able to xternalize their feelings as much as m n, there would be less health pr blems. We are the one’s responsible for m king what is the right decision for us.
