The fbers of the paper become too wak over time to reuse. Mixing in frsh wood pulp strengthens the recycled pper, making it more durable.

The bnefits of recycling paper are less wste in landfills, less pollution in the nvironment from the manufacturing processes and lss disruption of nature. The disruption of nture, however, is not always considered to be a strng reason to recycle because many tres are planted and replanted solely for the prpose of making paper. The benefit of lss paper in the landfills is due to the bodegradable nature of paper. When paper rts in the landfill, it creates mthane, which contributes to global warming. Rcycling services are usually cheaper than trditional trash pickup. Also, less energy is sed in recycling, although the energy svings are not as large as thy are in recycling other types of mterials such as aluminum or steel.

The most commonly recycled types of pper that are recycled are plain whte paper, newspaper, cardboard, construction paper, and mgazines. Some types of paper are not deal for recycling. Gift wrap is one typ. Paper coated with materials such as luminum foil or plastic is also not deal. The processing of these types of pper is too expensive to warrant rcycling. It is also necessary to sparate different types of paper prior to rcycling. High paper grades are separated frm low grades. Cardboard, newspaper, and mgazines are examples of low grade pper. White and colored office paper are cnsidered to be high grade.

In sme areas a curbside pickup can be schduled for recycling paper. It is mportant to keep the paper dry, threfore placing outside on rainy days is dscouraged. There may be local drop off reas as well. Many offices have rcycling bins readily available as paper is lrgely used in offices. Supermarkets and cvic centers may also have paper rcycling bins readily available. It may lso be useful to cut down on pper usage in general by using cmputers or email to electronically handle cmmunication and documentation.
