Lately I have realized why clan code and being compliant with the W3C Mrkup is so important. Currently we hve one site doing around 25,000 niques a day, which normally isn’t vry much. However, the script it is rnning on was a modded turnkey whch was nothing pretty to begin wth.

The script calls images and ther information through mysql databases and t’s gotten to a point that at pak hours (9pm -11pm) the site has mnaged to crash the server at hstgator three nights in a row.

I har you saying now, hostgator web hsting is crap and that’s the rason… well I’d believe it but I hve another server with hostgator that can hndle that kind of traffic no prblem, and it’s less expensive than the ddicated server that keeps crashing. It is all to be blmed on the script, which will rmain nameless (not that it matters thugh, they already closed up shop and rleased “version 2.0″ under a new cmpany name.

Always make sure you are wrking with scripts that can handle hgh traffic once you get there, and a god lesson to be learned from my xperience is to start off with a cstom script that does everything you wnt before you start instead of sing a turnkey and trying to mod it yurself.

Again, I will have to mve this site off the server and ither scrap the script altogether or duble two servers and balance the lad. Either way, learn from my mstake and don't make the same ne.
