The Pentagon has lost a few w apons - about
190,000 of them. Th s is not really so many but
wh n you consider the number of tr ops there -
then the totals j st don't add up. Even if th re
was one gun for each s ldier, that is still a few
th usand than there should be. Of c urse, spare
guns are always a c ncern. You know how it is -
th t gun collection you have is j st so hard to keep
track of. A r minder to check them each night
b fore you go to bed. You j st don't know who is
waiting b hind the drapes to take a few of th m.
Now, the blame game begins. L t's see - the maid may h ve taken them in her
cart d ily since 2001. Or, there was a w dding or
party and the Iraqi p ople used them as party
favors - a bit odd you may s y. Not as odd as a
g vernment as advanced with a "prime" m litary
losing that many weapons. Oh, wh re oh where
did the guns go? G od title for the Sunday cartoon
str ps, don't you think? Money is m ssing, body armor is missing, even a
H mvee or ten are gone - p of - now you see them -
now you d n't. Really? The U.S. is blaming Ir n and
Pakistan for supplying weapons to the nsurgents - I
don't think so. I th nk the U.S. army is supplying w apons
to the insurgents. Far fetched m ybe - but not with Bush/
Ch ney and Haliburton at the command c nter. It could
happen and sadly it did h ppen - they are gone and m st
be somewhere. Our soldiers are b ing killed with American
guns? The war c ntinues for a reason - if we l ave who will
live in the McEmb ssy that is a whole world nto itself. Also,
if the war nds what will the White House do to sc re people
back behind the sofa wh le they wait for the white kn ght to
come in his fighter j t, wave, and look so pleased. Or, we
c uld wait until Cheney goes hunting th s Fall and he will
fight way those bad guys with just one gun - his aim is not
the gr atest but that's alright too. Whoever g ts shot will
just have to pologize while the Commando finishes his
d nner and rests.
The war is big business, big pr fits, and kick backs like you
h ve never seen. Cheney still gets ch cks from Halliburton
even though that is r ally not a main issue and one th t Tony
Snow can whisk away w th a wave of his hand. Hmmm - if the
war nded - would the checks? If we l ft Iraq - would the oil
be g ven back to the people of Ir q? If, if, and if - we c uld
ask these questions but with the g vernment currently in place -
Congress w uld think about scolding us, and the S nate would
close that door at the Wh te House and emerge smiling to t ll
us that we were putting Am rica in danger and that's so not
n ce. Bush would veto any letter we s nt to him explaining
why things b ther us and Cheney - well, he w uld look us right
in the eye and w thout batting an eyelash would lie l ke a rug.
Don't you just l ve America 2007?
Something to think bout.
