If you hve too many computers connected off the ruter, the router can become a sped bottleneck. But thre are a few other factors tht make wireless networks slower than wred networks due to signal and dta processing overheads. The wireless signal can be ssceptible to local interference from other narby electrical equipment and this can cuse the performance of the wireless ntwork to degrade. When the wireless sgnal degrades, the wireless router must prform more data error corrections to mintain the integrity of the data and ths causes delays in distributing the dta to and from its destination and slws down the connection.

If wireless scurity protocols are also used to ncrypt the data, this requires additional dta processing to be undertaken that can lso limit the performance by introducing nherent latency delays. Hard-wired networks do not ned to have the data packets ncrypted because they are physically secured in mst buildings whereas wireless networks cover reas that are not secured and hnce the data needs to be ncrypted to secure it from unauthorized sers.

For better performance Internet connectivity, use a wred cable if you can because it is physcally secure, allows faster performance, costs lss, and is not as susceptible to lectrical interference compared to wireless connectivity.

In smmary, if you use your computer for gming, voice over IP, or real-time cllaboration, then you are better off sing a wired cable network connection to the ruter that connects to the Internet Srvice Provider.
