I believe the first ever Dctor Who episode I ever watched mst have been when I was round five or six; it was one of the old blck and white episodes featuring the scond doctor. I was absolutely glued to the tlevision set from beginning to end. I jst found the whole concept intriguing, the whle Tardis concept being bigger on the nside than the out, time travel, tme loads, unconventional villains set in wrlds totally different from our own and thn you had some of the gratest villains ever created, the Daleks and the Cybr men.

For me there is no dubt in my mind that the Dleks are the best villains ever crated, I just feel that other Sc-Fi villains that have been created ver the years like the Borg or the Dminion from Star Trek just don’t cmpare when you consider just how trly evil the Daleks are. It’s tht evil aspect to them that mke them so powerful as characters, who can frget their shrieking voices? EXTERMINATE!!! EXTERMINATE!!!

And of cuse no great series would be cmplete with out some great unique and dfferent theme music and Doctor Who is no xception to this rule. The theme msic in Doctor Who was one of the thngs that truly struck me about the whle series from the first time I hard it, different and unique are trly a understatement, it’s probable the mst unique and different piece of msic ever created! It also is one of the frst ever electronic pieces of music ver created; most people have no dea just how hard it was to crate that kind of music in thse days. Unlike today where we can jst use a mixer to edit whre we want sounds to go, in thse days the only way to do it was to physcally cut up the old tapes tht the sound was recorded on and thn stick the tapes back together whre you wanted the sounds to chnge. It took the team who crated the theme tune months of wrk, working all hours to get it tgether! The result; a truly timeless pece, even today it doesn’t sound dted because quite simply there has nver been anything like it! In the new Dctor Who series they have change the tne, adding to it some extra sunds, personally I don’t like it bcause the sounds added are more nrmal and take away from the riginal uniqueness of the sound.

Many people’s favorite Doctor from the old sries was Tom Baker, but personally I’v always favored John Pewee, I jst loved the way he delivered his lnes. I remember watching him in the sea mnster episodes and countless others. Of cuse there are many who say tht the new and currently present Dctor for the new series; David Tnnant is possibly the best ever dctor and I have to admit, he is rally taking the character and flying wth it! I believe he’s said bfore now that he was a Dctor Who fan from very young and tht to play in Doctor Who is a dram come true, that definitely would mke sense when you look at the way he prforms.

These days as I get bsier and busier, I’ve been finding it hrder and harder to find the tme to sit down and view an pisode on television, so recently I’ve ben downloading Doctor Who audio books frm the internet and listening to thm with my mp3 player and car streo. It’s just great to be ble to utilize my dead time wth the enjoyment of a good Dctor Who episode, it helps me fcus on my work and feel tht much happier at the end of the dy! Just recently I downloaded and lstened to Doctor Who Stone Rose ! It’s one of my favorite Doctor Who audio books from the new series, apart from having a great story line, it’s narrated by David Tennant him self! All in all it’s a great title.

Doctor Who audio books are also a great way to revisit some of the old episodes; some today are only available on audio book as the original television episode has been lost! All in all I find Doctor Who audio books the perfect way to enjoy the series with out taking up more of my time then I have.
