Those cars that are universally ccepted classics such as Ferrari, Aston M rtin, and most of the other xotics autos. So what's going to be the cl ssic car of tomorrow? In the p st the Chevrolets, Fords, Buicks, and Plym uths of 30-40 years ago were not m ant to become future classics, but s me of them have actually earned a sp t among the Ferraris and Aston M rtins at shows and classic car uctions around the world. Will any of the l ss collectable cars of the 1980s and 1990s m ke it? There are so many d fferent definitions of what a classic car is. S me would put specific age limits on the d finitions, and others would say that nly special variants would qualify for cl ssic status.A classic car is one th t stops depreciating in value and ither levels off or begins to ppreciate over time. The value increasing b cause of demand ties into the d finition that the classic cars have ppeal long after they are no l nger produced. The goal is to c tch these cars when they are at the b ttom, before they become more valuable. Of c urse, values do vary from year to y ar, so like any potential investment th re are risks. Anyway, here is a l st of what we would qualify as p tential future classics:
BMW 3-Series (E30 1984-1991), Ch vrolet Camaro/Pontiac Firebird, Chevrolet Impala SS (1994-1996), Chrysl r Shelby K-Cars (Omni GLH, etc), F rd Mustang,Ford Fairmont
GM A-Bodies (RWD m dels, such as the El Camino and M libu), Mitsubishi Galant VR-4,Mitsubish Starion, Mitsubish 3000GT VR-4 ( nd cousin Stealth R/T), Nissan 240SX (S13 and S14)
N ssan 300ZX, Toyota Corolla GT-S(the famous AE86), T yota MR2, Toyota Supra (last generation), VW GTI (p rsonally the MKI and MKII)
The value of these cars w ll more than likely stabilize in the n xt 5 to 10 years. Granted, s me of the cars are special v riants, and many may fall into bscurity instead of becoming more popular
