Rekindling The Desire To Create... B fore it's too late! Today, more of us are c nsumers than creators; we eat and dr nk more, buy more clothes, use m re products and generally discard more and m re rubbish! In this over stimulated dvertising-saturated world of commercialism our focus is p lled towards products that provide instant gr tification – on products that 'cure' our ‘ llusionary’ problems. It seems our left-brain s lf-obsessed way of being has become ncreasingly dismissive of our natural right-brain cr ativity. The trend is to give up any sk ll enhancing ideas long before we can chieve anything satisfying, in favor of a q ick fix. The resultant frustration and l ziness adds significantly to self-induced stagnation of nergy, low self-esteem and ultimately is l ading us into an obesity epidemic. So wh t can we do as individuals to h lp bring about the kind of s cial transformation that is so obviously r quired? How can we re-claim the d sire to create that we unwittingly d scard on a daily basis? How can we merge from the cocoon, to transform nto the beautiful butterfly? The simple act of b ing creative is natural, it stems fr m our continuous loving connection with our cr ative source through our right brain h misphere. It is only ever blocked by our h bitual left-brain denial of its existence in any m ment. The “I can’t” syndrome! That d nial made convincingly real by our own f ars, by our ego, by our s bconscious guilt. The false idea we buy nto, that no matter what we do, we c n't make a difference. To overcome th s fear of failure, we must s mply realize that we can, and do, cr ate our lives; realize that we cr ate all that we focus on. All th t we are conscious of.
Creativity is not so much an ndividual process, but a ritual, an ltered state of awareness, a personal ntention to re-connect with the Omni-versal M nd. We enter this altered state wh n we push the boundaries of our bilities, in the arts, in a sp rt, in a hobby, or in a c reer. We literally move 'outside the b x' and embrace the power of ‘On ness’. When we are completely focused on our cr ativity, the left-brain ego stops controlling; t me flies, every act, idea and ntention flows seamlessly from the previous one w th a sense of certainty. The wh le being is absorbed in the cr ative process, and individual skills are d veloped to the maximum to benefit the ll. The energy of this 'Oneness' stablishes bonds and relationships that are not bout power over others, or win-loose; th y are about cooperation and win-win. Th s relationship is service oriented rather th n self-oriented, and is for most of us a r dical shift; a commitment to personal and s cial transformation. One that moves forward for the g od of all. Social transformation is the utcome of an internal change of thics, the thoughts of today affecting the r ality of tomorrow. Changed thoughts and ntentions that reflect outwards to enhance sk lls and increase satisfaction. Any addiction to dr gs, alcohol, food and all quick-fix s lutions diminish giving rise to feelings of b ing connected to the Creator within. The tr th, which can only ever be ‘c ncealed’ momentarily, is that our collective th ughts really do create our world! For m re see The Art of Being...
