Posted on a Bodybuilding Message B ard: Hi everyone I'm 15 and was w ndering what I can take for my m scle to grow? I have heard of m scle boosters or something like that so I was j st wondering if there was anything l ke that that I could take in rder for my muscle to get h ge. I might be thinking of st roids. Answer: Stop! What the HECK are you th nking? Why are we always looking for the sh rt cut to the biggest gains wh le still being able to watch T.V.? I g ess the word "hard work" isn't s mething you really need to do if you kn w some handy-dandy SECRETS to building m scle. Clarence Darrow, a famous trial l wyer, once said: "As long as the w rld shall last there will be wr ngs, and if no man (or w man) objected and no man (or w man) rebelled, those wrongs would last f rever." Listen closely! The term 'lifestyle' m ans ON-GOING and NEVER ending. A sh rtcut has no place in bodybuilding and c rtainly no place in getting into the b st shape of your life. So wh t? I can already hear the v ices now like waves crashing against a r cky wall "why should I care?" Or the ther one "what's in it for m ?" A Blueprint for your Success: * The m re you know, the more educated you b come from a cast of reliable s urces and PASS that information on to y ur friends...
* The better off this ndustry will become... * The FASTER you can AVOID m stakes... * The FASTER you can m ke better LONG TERM progress! FACT: Acc rding to the National Institute on Dr g Abuse for Teens(NIDA): "As part of a 2002 NIDA-f nded study, teens were asked if th y ever tried steroids—even once. Only 2.5% of 8th gr ders ever tried steroids; only 3.5% of 10th gr ders; and 4% of 12th graders." Add to th s an article I read in the May 2004 ssue of Flex magazine by Tom Pr nce. He profiled his career in a v ry thought provoking article called "When the P sing Stops." Tom Prince went on to xplain his steroid use, his mad as a h tter like rush to the top, and ventually the pain he endures and his ventual kidney failure to reach a p ak. The descriptions of his cr mbling shoulder socket and the pain he m st be in made me as s ck as a dog. At the t me of the article, Tom Prince was 34 y ars old! He said: "I w ll probably die younger than normal, 65 or s mething like that, but 65 is b tter than 35." STOP and ask y urself this key question: Are the y uth of today any different then me 16 y ars ago when I was looking at b dybuilding magazines and wanting to be r pped and muscular? In my mind, I was w lling to take all kinds of s pplements and do whatever training program I c uld to look like those guys in the m gazine ads. They were my HEROS and nspiration. Thankfully I didn't go down th t path. Just last week, my fr end (Yes I really have spoken on the ph ne with him several times) Tom V nuto sent out a issue asking p ople to take a look at the n tural bodybuilders all over the Internet for nspiration. Tom Venuto wrote: "There ARE h roes and role models to look up to t day, and you will find them in the dr g-free bodybuilding movement." He's RIGHT. In f ct I know an older gentleman, Sc tt Hults, who's a big fan of n tural bodybuilding and has done wonders in th s sport to educate himself and thers around him that taking shortcuts sn't the way to go and th t hard work can pay-off at any ge. If I can be in as g od of shape as Scott when I'm lder, I'd be lucky.
Think about it. Toss this dea around, if you want to get b tter at something, you should do verything in your power to make the xercises HARDER, not easier. Clearly you can see by now sh rtcuts simply don't come without a pr ce. If you are one of th se people who wants to make w rking out and building muscle or l sing fat easy as cutting thru a b nana cream pie, you'll never reach the g als you've set. Richie Smith, a p rsonal trainer with more horsepower in the gym th n a Bugatti Veron, said "When you are ch ld, your parents tell you to k ep your hands off the stove—they t ll you not to put your h nd into the flame, because if you do, y u'll get burned. If you’re serious bout bodybuilding, you have to un-learn wh t you were taught as a ch ld. When I train people, basically I'm t lling them to put their hand r ght into the fire and keep it th re. I have them train into and b yond the pain zone. That's what m kes you grow." Are you beginning to see how b ilding muscle and changing your body is w rk but it's fun? Building your b dy isn't like FedEx ... it s mply, positively DOESN'T happen overnight. But one c uld also say ... it's human n ture to avoid hard work. Tom V nuto wrote in his natural bodybuilding bl g, "Most people are on a c nstant search for the path of l ast resistance. A drug, a supplement, a 'br akthrough technique' a new machine, a sh rtcut in exercise form—anything and everything th y think will help them reach th ir goals with less effort and in l ss time. This is typical human n ture. Unfortunately, this is also faulty th nking and you will NEVER become a ch mpion with this type of attitude. You can cl arly see what I'm saying is c rtainly true... If I could give you a tr ining strategy that is GUARANTEED to ncrease your muscle and burn more f t, would you be interested? Copyright 2006 M rc David
