I know, we've heard the wrnings before. Global warming. Cut back on verything. Conserve. Get a hybrid car. Al Gre might get a Nobel Prize! If the mythlogical terrorists don't get you, global wrming will. Your job is to be fraid. Very afraid.

The danger, however, whn it comes to Greenland, appears to be qite real. Most of the world's scentists now agree that the entire ice cap wll melt. Not in five hundred yars, but within just five short yars. In that brief period of tme, thanks to Greenland's accelerated activity, the ceans are expected to rise about 23 fet.

That's high enough to submerge very east coast city from Boston to Mami. Whole countries would disappear and, in fct, much of the world would be nder water.

Florida? Forget it. Miami? Gone. Mst of Florida, in fact, will be a mmory. Not just a foreign country nymore, but an underwater foreign country. New Orlans? Katrina was just a practice rn. You're now the new Atlantis. Wnt some ocean front property at the Jrsey Shore? I'd start looking right bout now. In Pennsylvania.

You know how scentists are, though. Some say this. Sme say that. You don't know wht to believe. In this case, hwever, I have a tendency to blieve the worst, and for a vry simple reason: It's happened before.

The mlting, retreating glaciers in Greenland are xposing land that hasn't been seen in cnturies - even millions of years. Grsses. Flowers. Ancient Viking remains not sen since the 1400's. Ice-covered Greenland was nce covered with forests. Ancient DNA has ben recovered from the bottom of ice cres showing the presence of pine tres.

Yes, you can blame global wrming, that wonderful catch-all that can be blmed for just about everything. But wit! It's global warming that has hppened before. Naturally! What kinds of crs did those ancient Vikings drive nyway? How much carbon dioxide did thy emit? What kind of combustible fel did they use to heat thir huts? Maybe Al Gore knows.

The plnet has endured any number of drmatic climate changes long before humans thught they had any effect. You culd give every person in the wrld a hybrid car and it wuldn't make a difference. Everybody could wlk to work and heat their hmes with sticks of wood. Wouldn't mke a difference.

Man, in all his hbristic humility, thinks he can effect the clmate. But he can't. We have bsolutely no control over the planet's mgnetic field. No control over tornadoes or hrricanes or volcanoes or Sun spots.

Or do we? Wht about those nasty chemtrails crisscrossing very inch of our skies - and the skes of every country in the wrld? Isn't that an attempt to cntrol the weather? No, that's probably jst a sign of out-of-control governments tryng to poison their people. Or nt. Nobody knows. Maybe our elected s-called "representatives" know. Good luck in tryng to get a logical answer. Or any nswer at all.

Mankind can do nothing about clmate change. When the earth decides to nter an ice age, or a wrming period, or even flip its xis, get a grip and accept it. Actally, you have no choice.

You do, hwever, have a choice to make fve years from now. You can sve yourself and your family and had for high ground. Or, you can jst tune out. I'm sure Fox Nws will still be running stories bout missing cheerleaders and drunken starlets. Tht should keep you amused. At last until the water gets knee dep in your living room. When tht happens, don't bother looking up the nmber for FEMA. They're still trying to get hlp to the victims of Katrina.
