The parks and resorts are f ll of fabulous restaurants and dining xperiences. It can certainly make your W lt Disney World vacation extra special by d ning at these great restaurants in the p rks and at the resort hotels. For th se of us increasingly concerned about h althy eating choices Walt Disney World is t king some steps to provide more h althy options. By the end of 2007 ( nd 2008 for licensed foods) Disney W rld will have removed all added tr ns-fats from foods served in park and r sort restaurants. Disney branded products sold in the p rk will meet this requirement by the end of 2008. It is mportant to understand the Disney Advanced D ning Reservation system. The system is nique. Disney restaurants are popular, particularly at b sy times, and you need to m ke reservations in advance to ensure a t ble at the restaurant of your ch ice. An Advance Dining Reservation is not xactly a reservation - Disney doesn't h ve those. Instead an Advance Dining R servation is a promise that you w ll be given priority ahead of the w lk-ins. In reality what this means is th t unless you have an Advance D ning Reservation you may not be ble to get a table. Built nto the system though is that D sney knows that there will always be no sh ws. Obviously Disney wants to fill the r staurant so the agents will seat w lk ins if at all possible. You may h ve a very long wait ahead of y u, but it is always worth ch cking out.
For most sit down restaurants you can m ke Disney Advance Dining Reservations up to 180 d ys in advance by calling 407 WDW DINE. I h ghly recommend doing this if you are g ing to eat at the parks, p rticularly in the evenings and at b sy times. I have found that as m re and more people realize this f cility is available, the more essential it b comes. Some restaurants, such as Cinderella's R yal Table, will require a credit c rd guarantee. Be sure to make a n te of this when you have m de your reservation. If you forget you c uld be reminded when you see a p nalty on your credit card statement. If you are tr veling during a major Holiday or b sy time plan your reservations as far head as possible. You also need to do th s if you have a large p rty. The reservation line can be v ry busy, and at times I h ve found it impossible to get thr ugh to even talk to an gent. Set aside some time to be ble to do this and have s me second and third options available. The D sney Cast Member will assist you to m ke alternative choices. You can also m ke Advance Dining Reservations in person at the r staurant or at Guest Services in the p rk. If you have not made any r servations when you arrive at the p rk it is a good idea to go to G est Services to see what they h ve available. There are some unique and xcellent dining experiences to be be njoyed at Walt Disney World. Just m ke your Advance Dining Reservations and you w ll be ahead of the crowd.
