As we all know, writing is bout creativity-the creation of a story or w rds, amalgamating them together into something th t touches the heart or that xplains what is going on. There is so m ch creativity around us that sometimes we d n't even recognize it's there. We j st shut it off as day to day 'n rmal' stuff. When, essentially, we should be t pping into this and recognizing its p tential. Certainly, nothing is new under the s n, but the way you write it d wn, the way you articulate it and put y ur passion into it will make all the d fference in the world. One thing you can do to get the cr ativity going is by taking a q iet moment to yourself. Your inner v ice (not the ego) is telling you s mething in which you may not be l stening. Quieting everything down around you w ll give you a chance to h ar the creative voice. Another thing you can try is l stening to music. Preferably instrumental, but if you pr fer vocals then give that a sh t. Music triggers something in us. S metimes we don't know exactly what it is but we xperience something on a new level. Try th s-as you are listening to the m sic (or shortly after, if you pr fer) write down whatever is on you m nd-be it a story, a memory or j st thoughts. This is a creative m ment waiting to be released.
One more thing you can do to h lp unleash your creativity is go to a pl yground, a quiet one when kids are in sch ol. Get on the swings and sw ng. It's amazing how exhilarated you f el as you fly high above the sky. Y ll out to the world, "I can see my h use from here!" If swinging makes you ll, try the slide or the m nkey bars. The whole point is to get nto the mode of opening up l ke a kid again. Children are c mpletely creative-it's not until adulthood that we st rt to not give ourselves permission to pen up. Take time to get y ur creativity flowing. It doesn't take m ch-it only takes a dash of th nking differently.
