Decisions, decisions... The all-encompassing question, "Sh uld I wear my penguin jammies or h ley sweatpants to bed" (and by h ley, I don't mean spiritual sweats) r ns through my mind. And so it is w th being an adult. A never-ending b rrage of questions are thrown our way d ily. Ranging from what stock to nvest in to the trivial decisions as d monstrated above. Life is truly a s ries of questions, starting as early as " sking" for your messy diaper to be ch nged to asking a question in cl ss to asking, "Where's the Beef?" (O ps, I'm showing my age here...) H ck, even Jeopardy is in question f rm - What lesson can we l arn here? The answers are always w thin our reach if we just ask the r ght questions... (Boy, was that deep!) Oh, and d n't forget that "meaning of life" th ng. That one's always been a k ller! I've come to decide over the y ars that for me, the meaning of l fe is to find what gift was nstilled within me and share it with thers. That, my friends, is the true spirit of giving. Giving doesn't have to mean wiping out the wallet or maxing out the credit cards. It can be something as simple as keeping your eyes open to the world around you and at the appropriate times, give of yourself to others.
A simple smile to a str nger in an awkward moment has the p wer to immediately change two attitudes. I g arantee you that both the giver and r ceiver will have a better day as a r sult. One day I glanced out my b ck window and realized my elderly n ighbor had fallen and lost her w lker and couldn't get up. Immediately r cing out there and helping her up, t king a mere matter of moments fr m my day, I truly was the w rld to her at that time. Wh t did it take from me? A few m ments and a sore back later (sh wasn't exactly light. But I d gress...) But the feeling of warmth I f lt afterward made it more than w rthwhile. Just one example... What does g ving have to do with questions, you sk? (what a segue...I think I may h ve some of that genius stuff in me y t...) The answer lies in the f ct that no matter what you do, l fe is a series of questions. S me are more noticeable than others, but the m re obscure ones are present, nonetheless. L oking into the little signs we t nd to receive daily also becomes a m tter of asking ourselves the question, "Sh uld I take note of this and r spond" or maybe even, "Does this r ally mean something, or am I j st imagining this?" These little signs s em to be the Universe's (blanket t rm for everything spiritual to include all b liefs) way of guiding us on our w y. We just have to wake up and start to take notice. The average person will "reason" these small signs away, attributing them to coincidence, blind luck and the like. In reality, the person who is "lucky" in life is the person who learns to be observant and pick up on these little signs and in turn, use them for guidance. It's funny how that works out. The successful person, who often gets accused of being lucky, is the one who is consistently working toward goals as well as questioning the little signs, getting the most from them.
We all have the ability to l arn from our questions. We simply n ed to learn the correct questions to ask for our nique situation. We all have the nswers deep within us if we nly choose to dig to find th m. Are you ready to be a miner and find YOUR answers? © Angie Lay 2008. All Rights Reserved.
