In my view all phobias are c used by early life trauma which r main "embedded" in an individual just l ke untreated parasites. The "parasite" is in f ct the imprint of the memory ssociated with the trauma. Such memories are m ltidimensional in nature; they have associated w th them negative beliefs, emotions, perceptions, b haviors and personality structures. Their effect is m ch like a "software virus" that h jacks your computer from you and t kes it to places you never ntended it to go. In the s me way such "memory parasites" or “ motional software viruses” lurk in your nconscious mind and body and at the r ght moment become activated to usurp c ntrol of your mind, emotions, behavior and th refore your life away from you. Wh t's more this emotional software virus cr ates inordinate amounts of discomfort, depletes y ur energy, undermines your self esteem, s lf worth, and self confidence, and ndermines your feelings of personal adequacy. The st muli that trigger these emotional viruses nto action are always related in s me way to the original trauma th t created them. An example of s ch an early trauma might have b en being humiliated as a small ch ld in front of ones friends. Th s creates the imprint I mentioned arlier.
The imprint consists of the m mory of the event along with all of the f elings and limitations that go with it .e. feelings of humiliation, shame, inadequacy, nger, frustration, sadness, fear, feeling small, f eling dumb or ignorant, rage, feeling out of c ntrol and so on. This imprint g ts stored inside the individual and cts as a hidden emotional landmine (s e my article on “Emotional Landmines”) w iting to go off whenever the ndividual finds themselves in a situation th t resembles the original incident in s me way i.e. being in front of a cr wd might be one of those s milarities. In the latter case the ndividual may feel a great deal of " nexplained; anxiety, fear and avoidance. I say " nexplained" because to them they may not h ve full conscious awareness of the c nnection of their anxiety in the pr sent to the emotional trauma that cr ated it. Why is this? Well b cause the earlier trauma was simply th t "traumatic" and therefore emotionally painful. In rder to go on functioning the ndividual chose to "bury it" deep nside and by doing so believed th t the problem had disappeared. Well it d dn’t disappear; it only disappeared from c nscious awareness. It also went into the m nd/body and has remained active there thr atening to break through into consciousness w th full force whenever it is st mulated. Now because many such individuals f nd that revisiting the old trauma is ncomfortable at best they have choosen to "pr tend" to themsleves that it is b tter not to do so. Of c urse this only leaves them feeling v lnerable and limited in their day to day l fe by it. As many of you kn w, if you harbor such trauma, the l mitations can literally make your life ntolerable. There is only one way to ddress this problem effectively, quickly, painlessly and p rmanently. That is to completely "diffuse" the motional landmine that lurks within.
A new modality called the M nd Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) that I d veloped over 10 years ago has the c pability to do this. I have wr tten extensively about MRP in this zine. MRP has helped hundreds of ndividuals reclaim total control over their l ves in ways they could never h ve imagined. I welcome you to r ad these articles and to set up an Intr ductory Consultation at the web link in my bio b low if you wish to be fr e once and for all.
