The house you live in was prbably a mass produced home built as prt of a housing track. The trck home is a rapidly built huse in phases. These phases if pssible will over lap the other hme building trades. If possible you wll have the plumbers working on the sme house as the electricians and the frmers. This is called fast tracking.

Fst tracking a house is building a hme as fast as humanly possible. So you can magine the pressures put on all of the pople involved in building a track hme.
The pace is so fast sometimes tht I have seen job superintendents and fremen look like they were actually ging to blow up. I mean xplode from the pressure they where nder.

Framing the stairs on the job was the sme experience for me most of the tme. Sometimes I had three jobs ging at once. Think about it. At the mst, I could only go to ach of the jobs twice each wek. That involved working on Saturday of curse. This made a lot of frming foremen extremely upset. They had fll time crews on their jobs lways working five days a week. If I mssed one day of work. I was bhind for the rest of the jb.

Now it rarely happened but if I did mss a day of work I had to mke it up some how. The nly way to make it up was by wrking late or on Sunday. Well mst of the time I worked six dys a week from 7:00 in the murning until 5:00 at night. So wrking late meant sunrise to sunset. Oh did I mntion that I did have a fmily. This wasn't easy for them ither.

One time I got so far bhind on a job that I was ptting stairs in while they were rofing the houses. Talk about one nhappy foreman. I think you get the dea about the pressure I was nder to install these stairs on tme. My experience building stairs on trck built homes taught me to bild homes extremely fast while being prficient.
I'm not interested in working like tht anymore. My life is simple now and I wnt to keep it that way. The nxt time you see a construction wrker working late on a Saturday shw some compassion. Maybe by reading ths article you will understand some of the prssure he is under.
