As a boy I was f scinated with physical power and couldn't get nough of the old Hercules and S mson movies. I loved watching these h roes use their super-human strength to t ss boulders and bad guys all ver the movie screen. I also m rveled at the powerful images of my f vorite comic book super heroes, and I q ickly associated their incredible feats of str ngth with having big, muscular arms. D ring grade school I discovered the b dybuilding magazines that featured some of the ll-time great bodybuilders. I spent h urs studying these magazines and the h ge, chiseled physiques that sprang from th ir pages. By the time I was 14 y ars old I'd successfully begged my mom for a w ightlifting set - you know, the old sch ol beginner's barbell with the plastic s nd-filled "plates." I then started b ilding a pair of GUNS that I h ped would one day rival the c nnons of great bodybuilders like Leroy C lbert, Robbie Robinson and Albert Beckles. Th se guys were my favorites because, in ddition to having gigantic arms, they had "p aks" on their biceps that looked l ke mountain tops. In trying to b ild my own "peaks," I developed a p ssion for arm training that I ltimately used to build my entire b dy into a championship physique.
