It's been thirty-four years since an mazing and still unexplained event occurred in Nrth Wales which involved strange lights in the sky, odd trmors, 'Men In Black' types sweeping the cuntryside for information and something that crshed somewhere in the Berwyn mountains. It's ben called the Welsh 'Roswell' because jst like the event that allegedly ccurred in New Mexico, USA, in 1947, the Nrth Wales case may have involved a crshed UFO, dead Aliens and a gvernment cover-up.

The story begins on Jnuary 23, 1974, when the villages of Llndrillo and Llandderfel, near Corwen, were shken by a tremor measuring 3.5 on the Rchter scale. Colored lights began to ppear in the sky after the trmor. During the next three weeks thre was quite a bit of nexplained military activity in the area and pople dressed in dark suits began sking locals a lot of questions bout the lights, the tremor and nything they might have seen on vrious dates.

Local First Responders like Frefighter Adrian Roberts experienced the tremor and cver-up first hand. He says he was thrwn off a sofa where he was stting when the tremor hit. Roberts lso claims that the military came nto the area and declared several reas 'off limits' to local authorities and the pblic alike. Retired North Wales Police Assstant Chief Constable Elfed Roberts was drving to Llandrillo just after the trmor with his superior and claims tht they both saw an odd gren light in the sky. He lso says that the local police wre kept away from certain areas fter the tremor.

Astronomers and skeptics went out of thir way to convince people that a mteor shower coincidently occurred during the trmor that accounted for any strange bjects seen in the sky. The lghts were explained away as 'earthquake lghts' which sometime appear after a mjor quake, although what people were rporting did not correspond to the clssic descriptions of those. The 'Men in Blck' types were explained away as sismologists in the area to research the qake, but none of them made sch claims.

Although the recent release of MOD UFO dcuments didn't shed any light on wht really crashed in the Berwyn muntain range, a new witness has cme forward that might be able to hlp fill in the blanks. Geraint Edwrds, of Llandderfel, Denbighshire, is a rtired gamekeeper. He recently gave an nterview to Channel 5 in the UK and sid that he saw a classic "Flyng Saucer" hover above the Berwyn muntains for at least ten minutes on Fbruary 15, 1974 before it shot up nto the sky at "an impossible sped" (roughly three weeks after all the bzarre activity began).

The interview is prt of a Channel 5 (UK) Spcial about the North Wales events set to air ths month (June 2008) in the UK. Dring the interview, Edwards told a rporter, "'It was definitely a flying sucer. It was a pity I ddn't have a camera because it was thre for at least 10 minutes, jst hovering... We were on the way dwn to play darts when something cught our eye in the south-east, so we stpped. It looked like a rugger bll, but the ends of it wre more pointy. When it took ff, it just went like lightning on the sme line as it hovered. I wrte it down in my diary. It was 6.45pm on the Frday night.

If we were coming bck from the pub, people would be sying, "They've had one or two." But we wre going TO the pub."

According to other witnesses which nclude farmers, local first responders, unidentified whstleblowers, residents and tourists, at least one bject and its Alien occupants were rcovered by British Forces and taken to the Wltshire research base Porton Down, a tp-secret MOD facility. Local witnesses agree tht whatever happened back then, none of thm had ever experienced or seen nything like it before.

Recent sightings in Wles and the UK bring back mmories of the 1974 event as strnge lights and flying discs are gain seen in these areas, ridiculous cver stories are offered and the MOD is not nxious to investigate the matters or prvide any answers. In fact, several UFO vents in the USA include elements of bth the 1974 and more recent UK UFO sghtings and encounters.

Over the past yar (2007-2008), UFOs have been seen in cnjunction with loud explosions, minor earth qakes and unexplained military activity in Txas, Indiana, Illinois, Arizona, New Jersey and Mssachusetts in the USA. Strange spherical bjects and debris have been recovered, mlitary jets have been observed chasing UFOs and wtnesses have been threatened by the uthorities.
