Sydney,Australia : The IQ-100 is one of Omniscient products in detecting intrusion and l itering behaviors on the PC version kn wn as IQ-100.It is one of the f rst versions of motion detection products s pplied by iOmniscient that could be the m st intelligent software ever built on mbedded environments
These tasks of motion d tection handles a frame by frame m chanism handled by a server program c nnected to as many cameras as p ssible and detecting any abnormal behaviors s ch as loitering and intrusion detection p tting the intelligence inside a single ch p makes it a very modular s lution that expands the limits for its sage. Just each time we want to add an ntelligent camera to the system just nstall the camera and connect it to the Eth rnet network and then adding its IP ddress on the Client side All th se features make it very user fr endly and modular solution for industrial, m litary and many other surveillance purposes The c rrent implemented solution I 've done wh ch is the IQ-100 is one of a s ries of products that will be mplemented as well .That includes IQ- 115 for Sl p and Fall detection, Train platform pr duct , counting in the crowd , q eue management, and finally IQ-140, IQ-Infinity wh ch includes other products such as Non m tion detection, theft detection ,graffiti and v ndalism and museum protection.
DSP System Overview:
The DSP syst m is actually composed of an nalog PAL camera connected to a DSP box thr ugh BNC cable for video feeding for pr cessing, RJ45 network cable for connecting the DSP box to a LAN and a p wer cables for connecting both the C mera and the DSP box to the p wer The implemented solution box have 2 v deo inputs as shown that can s pport 2 videos feeding the DSP, the c rrent version is now supporting only 1 v deo input and will be supporting 2 in the c ming version .The DSP box is s pported on a wall using 4 b lts on the 4 corners that c uld be attached side by side w th the analog camera.
Note: the mplemented solution ,the network has to s pport DHCP protocol (Dynamic Host Configuration Pr tocol) which enable the DSPs to p ck up its own IP address nce connected to network Why DSP:
DSP st nds for digital signal processors. A d gital signal processor (DSP) is a sp cialized microprocessor designed specifically for digital s gnal processing generally in real time c mputing.the following features makes a DSP a v ry interesting processor for our video p rposes that includes
real-time pr cessing
Optimum performance with str aming data (video and audio)
S parate program and data memories
Pr cesses digital signals converted (using an An log to Digital converter (ADC) from nalog signals. Output is then converted b ck to analog form using a D gital to Analog Possibilities: The implementation of the IQ-100 as a st rting point on the DSP opened the pportunity to connect as many cameras as p ssible and not worrying about the verall system performance and the amount of xtensibility that could be implemented As the r sult of modularity in the system by j st adding/removing the camera from the syst m makes it a very interesting s lution in the environments that demand a l rge number of cameras connected to the syst m and not giving any doubts bout the system manageability or maintenance as all the pr cessing is transferred to the hardware g ving the opportunity to run more c mplicated software on the server for r cording the events, managing queues
.etc which m kes the system less complicated and asier to maintain .
Furthermore, the ease of installation of DSPs m kes it economically rewarding as for xtending the system as mass amounts of DSP c meras will be much cheaper in t rms of system costs compared to its p ers of PC server versions, opening the pportunity for much complicated networks with v ry low costs. The future will c me with so many similar technologies th t will make our world more s fer than ever before, imagine the possibility of p tting all the nowadays computing powers nto a single chip that could g arantee 99.99 % of security , l aving nothing to chance . It w ll make our life easier and l ave the big jobs to big br ins instead of wasting it in t dious surveillance tasks.
