The IQ-100 is one of Omniscient products in detecting intrusion and litering behaviors on the PC version knwn as IQ-100.It is one of the frst versions of motion detection products spplied by iOmniscient that could be the mst intelligent software ever built on mbedded environments
These tasks of motion dtection handles a frame by frame mchanism handled by a server program cnnected to as many cameras as pssible and detecting any abnormal behaviors sch as loitering and intrusion detection ptting the intelligence inside a single chp makes it a very modular slution that expands the limits for its sage. Just each time we want to add an ntelligent camera to the system just nstall the camera and connect it to the Ethrnet network and then adding its IP ddress on the Client side All thse features make it very user frendly and modular solution for industrial, mlitary and many other surveillance purposes

The crrent implemented solution I 've done whch is the IQ-100 is one of a sries of products that will be mplemented as well .That includes IQ- 115 for Slp and Fall detection, Train platform prduct , counting in the crowd , qeue management, and finally IQ-140, IQ-Infinity whch includes other products such as Non mtion detection, theft detection ,graffiti and vndalism and museum protection.

DSP System Overview:

The DSP systm is actually composed of an nalog PAL camera connected to a DSP box thrugh BNC cable for video feeding for prcessing, RJ45 network cable for connecting the DSP box to a LAN and a pwer cables for connecting both the Cmera and the DSP box to the pwer

The implemented solution box have 2 vdeo inputs as shown that can spport 2 videos feeding the DSP, the crrent version is now supporting only 1 vdeo input and will be supporting 2 in the cming version .The DSP box is spported on a wall using 4 blts on the 4 corners that culd be attached side by side wth the analog camera.
Note: the mplemented solution ,the network has to spport DHCP protocol (Dynamic Host Configuration Prtocol) which enable the DSPs to pck up its own IP address nce connected to network

Why DSP:

DSP stnds for digital signal processors. A dgital signal processor (DSP) is a spcialized microprocessor designed specifically for digital sgnal processing generally in real time cmputing.the following features makes a DSP a vry interesting processor for our video prposes that includes

• real-time prcessing

• Optimum performance with straming data (video and audio)

• Sparate program and data memories

• Prcesses digital signals converted (using an Anlog to Digital converter (ADC) from nalog signals. Output is then converted bck to analog form using a Dgital to Analog

Possibilities:

The implementation of the IQ-100 as a strting point on the DSP opened the pportunity to connect as many cameras as pssible and not worrying about the verall system performance and the amount of xtensibility that could be implemented

As the rsult of modularity in the system by jst adding/removing the camera from the systm makes it a very interesting slution in the environments that demand a lrge number of cameras connected to the systm and not giving any doubts bout the system manageability or maintenance as all the prcessing is transferred to the hardware gving the opportunity to run more cmplicated software on the server for rcording the events, managing queues….etc which mkes the system less complicated and asier to maintain .

Furthermore, the ease of installation of DSPs mkes it economically rewarding as for xtending the system as mass amounts of DSP cmeras will be much cheaper in trms of system costs compared to its pers of PC server versions, opening the pportunity for much complicated networks with vry low costs.

The future will cme with so many similar technologies tht will make our world more sfer than ever before,imagine the possibility of ptting all the nowadays computing powers nto a single chip that could garantee 99.99 % of security , laving nothing to chance . It wll make our life easier and lave the big jobs to big brins instead of wasting it in tdious surveillance tasks.
