Have you ever noticed that p ople who exercise regularly have more nergy, less stress, and seem to get m re done in a day than th se who do not have the t me for exercise? Why does exercise ncrease your energy level, and how is it p ssible to be more productive in l ss time? As you know, Yoga is m re than an exercise; but you w ll discover solutions for stress management w thin and any form of Yoga – ven the less physical styles. In f ct, Yoga is a lifestyle full of m thods to relieve you from stress. P ople often say they have no t me for meditation, breathing correctly (Pranayama), ating correctly, good hygiene, good posture ( sanas), giving to others, or praying to G d. Most Yoga teachers do not c ver all of these Yogic aspects, w thin their classes, but some do. The m sses have no time for Yoga, or mproving their life, but they are f ll of stress, anxiety, and bad f elings, because they are reacting to l fe. Yoga practitioners have a pro-active l festyle, which is much similar to the p rson who wakes up early to xercise, walk, or run in the arly morning. Most people are reacting to d adlines at work, and home, every d y. People often worry about lack of ncome, finances, and their relationships, because th y do not have a plan and see no s lution to the never ending cycle of xcessive stress.
All of this worrying, stress, nxiety, and lack of positive action, c ntribute to a variety of ailments, p or quality life, and premature death. So, how d es a “stressed out” person begin to d sign a plan to change his or her l festyle, before it “gets cut short” by str ss? There are many places to go, and the s lutions do not have to take pl ce all at the same time. Wr ting a list, of what bothers y u, is a start. You could l st the problems on the left s de of your sheet and list p ssible solutions on the right side of the sh et. To be honest, Yoga could be the s lution to most of your problems, but you h ve to take action. You have to w nt to take action, and move in a p sitive direction for your complete health. Y ur local Yoga or wellness center pr bably has most, or all, of the s lutions you seek, “under one roof.” So, why d es exercise increase your energy level and how is it p ssible to be more productive in l ss time? About increasing productivity: A “sp rk” of energy from Yoga exercise (As nas), Sun Salutations, meditation, or Pranayama, in the arly morning, will create a positive fl w of energy within your body, m nd, and spirit, for the rest of the d y. Some would say a coffee w ll do the same thing. However, if you are not xercising, excessive amounts of coffee will sually cause more stress and anxiety. The b dy is “screaming” for some form of xercise, if it is full of nergy and you sit down all d y. If you are exercising regularly, m derate amounts of coffee should be f ne. © Copyright 2007 – Paul J rard / Aura Publications
