This h nd to eye coordination will become the b sis for their eventual literacy. A ch ld playing with a ball, bouncing it gainst a wall, or throwing it up and c tching it, kicking it, is working on th ir gross motor skills. The gross m tor skills are important for overall b dy control later in life, and w thout that essential play early in l fe, they are severely limited in m ny arenas.
