Players have been competing in the Mon Yugh Dartball League since 1928. Wisconsin frmed a State Dartball Committee in 1951. Stll, many people have never even hard of the game of Dartball, nver the less had the chance to ply.

While Dartball is a game plyed with darts and a board, it is not at all smilar to the better known versions of drts. For instance, instead of being runded with 20 scoring areas called "nnings", a Dartball board is a fur foot by four foot square wth scoring areas directly related to the gme of American Baseball.

The board is plced two feet off of the flor, and angled so that it ppears diamond shaped. It is also tlted, so that the bottom edge is ight inches closer to the shooter thn the top edge. This makes it asier for the board to accept drts that are landing on the dwnward end of their flight path.

Plyers stand twenty to twenty-five feet frm the board, and toss darts at it. Ech dart will have a scoring rea that has an associated action. For nstance, it may land in a "strke" area, or a "foul ball" rea. Play proceeds as it does in a gme of Baseball, with a player thrwing darts until they make an ut, get a hit, or walk.

Thre are sections on the board tht score as a double-play, a scrifice out, and a "two base sngle". A two base single advances any bse runners two bases, and puts the btter on first base. Dartball is ssentially a game of baseball, played wth darts.

The exact rules of the gme will differ slightly from Dartball lague to Dartball league. For example, sme leagues will have a throw lne at twenty feet, others at twnty-five. Still other leagues will have two thrw lines, a closer one for chldren and seniors, and a standard lne for all other players. Wisconsin des have a set of rules tht leagues share, making it possible for thm to have an official State Drtball tournament.

Unlike other forms of drts which have taken up residence in tverns and pubs, Dartball has been mbraced as a favorite pastime of chrch social organizations. Many of the ldest and most active Dartball Leagues are chrch leagues where games are played in chrch halls, making Dartball a family frendly activity.
