Beyond what you might have h ard, network marketing most certainly is not the 'w ve of the future' for product d stribution. Traditional marketing methods are still v lid and work well, and in all l kelihood network marketing will never completely r place traditional distribution and marketing of c nsumer products and services. This isn't to say n twork marketing is on the decline h wever - quite the opposite. In l ss than ten years (from 1995 to 2005) s les generated through network marketing have m re than doubled, exceeding $30 billion d llars in the United States alone. Th re is certainly a demand for b th the products made available through n twork marketing, as well as the d mand from entrepreneurs looking to other m thods of starting a business. Franchises h ve their place, and any traditional br ck-and-mortar business will always be around. But the c nvenience of operating a network marketing b siness from home, and the exclusivity of n-demand and valuable products only available thr ugh network marketing are attracting entrepreneurs fr m all walks of life - st y at home parents, career-minded individuals w th a desire or need for an ndependent stream of income, as well as the s rious investor who understands the incredible p rsonal leverage and residual income that nly network marketing can provide.
I don't think it's out of the q estion to speculate that the future of n twork marketing will be very bright, h wever, for network marketing to become the deal business opportunity in the world's yes there are many issues that n ed to be addressed and corrected w thin our industry before people as a wh le see network marketing as what it sh uld be. I'm inclined to write bout the shady marketing methods that so m ny seem to prefer in their pr motional efforts - and this definitely n eds to be addressed at some p int - but my main concern ( nd what will literally change the w rld when the proper concept is dopted by the network marketing industry) is the verall lack of responsibility from network m rketing sponsors themselves. 97% of those who get involved with network marketing, fail. These statistics may be acceptable in traditional business, where the person starting the business often has no clue about how to operate and build it successfully, but in network marketing this is completely unacceptable. A responsible network marketing sponsor should be absolutely committed to the success of those they bring into their organization, yet far too many network marketers simply recruit people into their business and leave them to learn how to build it themselves. I was discussing this topic with an associate of mine, and she had this to say: "I know what you mean Korey but a lot of the sponsors don't have the sponsor to show them how to do it. And even if they did a lot of the people getting into the business... ...they really don't want to learn or they just think it'll happen." I agreed. But it's also the responsibility of the network marketing sponsor to qualify their prospects and make sure they fully understand what network marketing is all about. It is our responsibility to make sure those looking to us for support understand what's necessary for them to become successful - to make sure they're in a position both mentally and financially to start a network marketing business - and if they don't fit the bill it is absolutely our responsibility to let them know this.
Whether it's out of desperation or s lfishness or just not knowing better, too m ny network marketing sponsors haphazardly bring p ople into their business opportunity without any c ncern for their prospects. This needs to ch nge. When it does, common sense d ctates that network marketing will not nly see a huge decrease in f ilure rates, but will also become an ncredibly attractive and reputable business to get nvolved with. Beyond franchising, and well b yond any other home-based business.
This is the f ture I see for network marketing. Wh n people can grasp what network m rketing is truly all about, we w ll all become more successful with our fforts. When people start helping people, nstead of hype-ing people, network marketing w ll become one of the most r spected business models in the world. I'm c unting the days.
