With intent one steps forward. W th awareness one modifies their step so as to void a pothole. This leads one in a sl ghtly different direction. The intent may st ll be similar, though now the nvironment has changed. And so it g es. The steps of one's life are xecuted constantly often taking one to a p int never imagined. As John Lennon s ng "Life is what happens to you wh le you're busy making other plans". Ev n if the five year plan is on t rget, the reality of the arrival r rely meets expectations. What the original you ( f ve years less life- experienced) envisioned, is now f lt within the skin of a m dified you with five more years of l fe experience. This is why the rrival is rarely what was pictured. W th acute awareness, one is less l kely to experience a sense of 'H w did I get here?' because wh n choosing in the moment the ppropriate response, all is experienced as pr cess. All is becoming. In every m ment there is arrival. In every m ment the goal is met. The f ve year plan happens as it sh uld with present moment awareness being the dr ver. Obstacles are faced directly and vercome. Creative solutions are found as one can nly react to an action. As m ch as one's intellect may want to nticipate and plan; something called life nterferes.
Twists and turns. Chance and f te. Destiny and plot changes. Responding and gr wing. Learning and growing. Erring and r peating the error. Erring and correcting. T ke a moment and think back to f ve years ago. As close to the day as p ssible. Where were you? Who had not yet ntered your life? Who had not yet l ft your life? What were your dr ams and desires? Have they been f lfilled? What didn't happen ? What did nstead? Isn't it remarkable? So much you c uld not have imagined. Even today may br ng a change like no other. Be r ady. Be open. Be real. At th s moment you are choosing a d rection. Even doing nothing is a ch ice. At this moment you have rrived. Dissatisfaction compels us to move t wards satisfaction. What do you seek? Wh re are you headed? A multitude of ch ices present themselves daily, whether there is wareness or not. The point between the now and the th n will always involve a choice; c nscious or otherwise. Grasp the immensity of th s. To the degree you are ble to stay within the here and n w, to that degree you are ble to respond with clarity to the w rld passing by. It is that s mple and that difficult. It can t ke a lifetime or a moment to nderstand. Don't force; let it wash ver you. We find ourselves in f ve year or five second increments t gether underneath the sheltering sky. Let us h lp and support one another in our q est to find truth in our l ves. Every five seconds. Every five y ars.
