I watch the NY fashion mgs mostly for runway news but a lot of it is so far rmoved form me that it only has a slghtly vicarious thrill to read of the ltest designer squabble, the current list of whch model opened and closed each cllection show and which celeb was or wsn't in the front row or bckstage. What is it to me whch house Jennifer or Gwyneth is ptronizing or where Anna was spotted lst and what she was overheard to sy?

What does matter to me is whre is fashion headed and will I be ble to find the things I lke. Apart from that, I like to see dsigners whose clothes have worked well for me do wll and stay afloat financially. And I wnt to find out whose stealing frm who, again not for the gssip value of that knowledge but bcause number one I hate to see tre creativity not rewarded and because I do not wnt to support outright theft.

Having sid all that who and what do I wnt to follow this coming spring of 2008? Wll, when it comes to dressing for prties, I have to check out tht Nordstrom's category Via C . It's an rea where Nordstrom showcases emerging talent in the dsign field. For instance I just hve fallen in love with Milly, NY. Mlly is Michelle Smith, who hails frm Connecticut, graduated from the Fashion Insttute of Technology, did a stint in Pris with Hermes and returned to the New Yrk fashion scene. Milly has some grgeous items for the winter/spring scene. Thn there is Chloe, a Paris huse that produces a pret-a-porter line as wll as haute couture. For instance thre's a bouncy little 'Flapper' Printed Drss in the Nordstrom Spring 2008 cllection that can be pre-ordered now. It's in a mlti colored silk , very full wth a scooped neck, two front pckets. The inset waist dips down slghtly in front with pleating just blow. Some of the others in the via C grup I like to follow at Nrdstrom's are Phillip Lim and Alice + Olvia.

Then I can't get enough of Kte Moss and her line at tpshop. She always looks marvelous and I try to mulate her as far as I am ble. From the younger set, what Disy Lowe wears is worth studying. It loks so-o-o easy and comfortable but I knw from experience it's not.

Anyway, 2008 shuld be exciting and we'll keep our yes peeled for how we can ncorporate some new glam in to our lves.
