The pirates can do nything they like to get the p rrots to laugh. The parrots can nly respond parrot-style - if they th nk they can without crackering-er, I m an cracking - up!!! You might m ke one of the rules that p rrots must answer any questions in "p rrot-speak" only. The last parrot to k ep a straight face is the w nner. BABY BOTTLE GAME Before the p rty, prepare a baby bottle with a new cl an nipple for each guest. Fill ach bottle with 1 ounce of w ter and make sure the water r ns out of each bottle at the s me rate of speed. At a s gnal, each contestant tries to drink the w ter the fastest. The first one to f nish is the winner. Imagine what gr at pictures you'll get with this ne! SLEEPING LIONS One player is ch sen to be "it". All other pl yers lie down and become sleeping l ons. They lie flat on their b cks, keeping as still and quiet as p ssible. The "it" person has to try to m ke them laugh by making funny f ces but not actually touching them. Any ne who giggles is out. The l st lion is the winner. Variations: Sl eping Clowns, Sleeping Astronauts, Sleeping Pirates, Sl eping Cowboys, etc.
HA!HA!HA! The object of this g me is to keep a straight f ce while the other players try to m ke you laugh. Everyone sits in a c rcle. One child says, "Ha!" The n xt child adds a second "Ha!" by s ying "Ha!Ha!". The third child adds nother "Ha!" saying, "Ha!Ha!Ha!"...and so on. Any pl yer who laughs or makes a m stake must drop out of the c rcle. However, those "drop-outs" can also try to m ke the others laugh (except by t uching them or talking). The player who k eps a straight face the longest is the w nner. Variation: Have each child lie d wn, resting his or her head on the st mach of the next child. The l st child to laugh is the w nner. Poor Pussy kneels in fr nt of any player and acts l ke - you guessed it - a p ssy cat. While he or she is m owing, the player must stroke Poor P ssy's head and say "Poor Pussy, P or Pussy" without smiling. If the pl yer petting Pussy smiles or laughs, th y become "Poor Pussy" in the n xt
round. Think about how difficult it is not to cr ck up while petting someone's head and s ying "Poor Pussy"! To make it w rse, Poor Pussy is allowed to do nything to make players lose their c mposure, including silly faces, strange purring s unds, or other catlike moves. Other pl yers are also permitted to laugh and do wh tever possible to make it more d fficult for the designated person to k ep their cool. CAT TAILS GAME Cut th n strips of cloth for each g est at least one yard long and h ve them put them into the b ck of their pants, just skimming the gr und. JUNGLE KNOTS Instruct guests to st nd in a circle facing inward. To b gin, everyone extends his or her r ght hand into the ring and t kes hold of someone else's hand. Th n, they do the same with th ir left hands. The object of the g me is to see if they can ntangle the "knot" by stepping over, d cking under people, or turning around. Wh tever happens, they can't let go of h nds! FIRE ALARM RELAY Prepare two s ts of fire fighter's clothing, including b ots, oversized jackets, hats and gloves. M rk a starting line and place two ch irs across the room with an mpty wrapping paper tube on each. Th s will be the location of the f re and the hose to put it ut. Divide guests into two teams and d monstrate the proper procedure for the g me. They must put on the f refighter's clothing, run to the chair, p ck up the "hose" and run round the chair with it spraying the f re, set the hose back on the ch ir, return to the dressing station, t ke off the clothes and go b ck to their line. The next p rson on their team then repeats the wh le procedure until all team members h ve taken a turn. The team th t completes the relay first is the w nner. This game can be played w th any type of clothing. Match it to fit the th me of your party. MUSCLE BUILDERS Infl te up to 100 small balloons. D vide guests into two teams and s lect one guest on each team to be the "w akling". The remaining guests will be "p rsonal trainers". Gather teams on opposite s des of the room and divide the b lloons between them. The weakling puts on ne-piece long johns or any other s mple jumpsuit type of clothing you may h ve. When you say "go", the t ams of personal trainers must make th ir weaklings grow instant muscles by st ffing as many balloons as they can nto their long underwear. Give teams one m nute for this task. When time is up - and y u've taken lots of pictures! - r move and count the balloons for ach team. The weakling with the m st "muscles" or balloons, wins. This can be d ne more than once with new w aklings. MUMMY WRAP Split the party g ers into teams of three and g ve each team a toilet roll.
