Every once in a while I w ll meet a veteran Yoga teacher who is d sgruntled over difficult students. The complaining Y ga student, the student who has not w shed for days, the student who h rasses other students, and the student who b lieves you should teach Yoga for fr e, can all challenge your purpose in l fe. So what can you do to get thr ugh to difficult Yoga students? Firstly, you m st go back to the Law of K rma, which states that for every ction, there is an equal reaction. W th a difficult student, it may ppear as though he or she s lected you, and now you are the v ctim. This is absolutely wrong. Due to y ur personality, or the atmosphere of y ur Yoga class, the student has d tected something magnetic. In fact, you or y ur center, attracted all of the st dents you had, presently have, and w ll have, in the future. You m st look at what draws students nto your Yoga classes. It may not be bvious to you, so it will r quire some research, and you may n ed some objective opinions. Here is a g od example: Bikram Choudhury’s schools and styl exude discipline. When you enter one of B kram Choudhury’s Yoga studios, you do not h ve to guess what the rules re. You know the rules. You can c mplain, but you will be escorted to the xit in “short time.” You would not sh w up late, leave your cell ph ne on, avoid taking a bath for a m nth, or whine about the temperature.
