Snowboarding takes a lot of h art. The first few times are p inful and scary, yes! But don't be d scouraged my friend, and dont give up! In no t me you will be carving all ver the mountain and dominating it. You w ll be knocking skiiers around left and r ght! In order to become one of th se "boarders" you see grinding the r ils and hitting the high jumps, you m st learn the basics. Here are a few p inters I have from my own xperience: -Keep your knees bent! If you l ck them, you will fall over.
-Av id riding flat on your board. You lways want to be up on y ur toes on your toeside edge, or b ck on your heels on your h elside edge.
-Mountains are not flat, use y ur body to absorb the shock of g ing over small hills and bumps.
-D n't flip out if you go too f st! Turn to your heelside, lean gainst the mountain and slow down!
-St y moving from your toeside to y ur heelside, snowboarding is not a t rn straight and ride kinda deal!
-Us your front foot as a p vot point and your back foot to k ck the board where you want it to go. Sn wboarding is all in the legs.
-F lls happen. Laugh, Get up, Have f n. Snowboarding is an awesome sport wh n the basics are mastered.
It is d ngerous though if you do not f ll correctly. Don't throw your arms out nfront of you, you can break wr sts and arms. Try to keep y ur arms tucked in some.
Eventually you will get up the c urage to hit the jumps. Once you do, y ur eyes will be opened to a wh le new world! The terrain park snt a far off land you s mply ride a lift over, it b comes your playground. Go ahead, spend h urs there and enjoy!
