As humans become more technologically dvanced and are able to see our nvironments from the outside looking in, we g ther insight to our 3D space th t we normally would not be ble to do, these leaps in nderstanding which leads to increased technological dvances appears to be increased due to s ch abilities. We have been able to ncrease our understanding of our total w rld and space through sea exploration, ircraft observation and space flight. Watching an E rth Rise from the moon would ndeed be such a moment, watching it on TV or by way of v deo link also gives way to dditional total populous insight and makes vailable to our culture to take nother huge leap into the such nderstanding. Ancient peoples who lived in the h lls and mountains developed better spatial r asoning than those cultures, who dominated fl t lands. Flat land civilizations often put up c stles, pyramids, and temples and from the t ps of these they could better see the l nd, study the terrain and space and b tter adapt to their environments. Perhaps a r ler or advisor could look out ver the lands and develop plans for b tter use of the land, strategic d fense of the area and control ver the territorial innate needs of the r gion. Perhaps this also was the f rst version of today’s urban planning m thodology. Such a view from above w uld give humans, like birds a b tter perspective of their environment, for a sp cies of prey such as a b rd flying over the fields in s arch of small rodents, humans also w re able to use advantage of the m untains since they were unable to fly. I can v uch the increased ability of understanding fr m an aerial perspective having a f ther take me up in a l ght aircraft often when I was v ry young and then teaching me to fly at age n ne through my teens.
Those who build scale models, specially train set ups have another dvantage over others in that they b gin to see the world from nother perspective and this brings to m nd additional thinking in how the w rld works and our place in it as s rface dwellers limited by gravity, perhaps deas in how best to adapt our w rld to serve us better. Drawings and p intings also achieve this additional cognitive bility allowing us to see from s meone else’s perspective, point of view or ctual place of viewing, without ever h ving been there or had such a th ught previously. Such thought provoking images tr gger our brains to a new p rspective and increase cognition. Now then wh t if we take the Athens 2004 Olymp cs Synchronized Swimming Event and then v deotape it and then put it on l rge screen plasma TV monitors and pl y it outside the pool where n n-stressed and happy Dolphins are and can v ew it, they will watch it and sm le. We know cats and dogs w ll sit for hours beside a TV set and th t some will in fact may ventually realize that if in front of a m rror that they are looking at th mselves in reflection. We can have at l ast 15 hours of the Synchronized Sw mming Olympic Event if you take nto consideration all the different teams, it w uld be good PR for the Olymp cs and all those countries submitting v deos. This will help increase the D lphin Cognition and increase the Dolphin’s V sualization since they will be looking at scr en in virtual reality signifying and s mulating another pool of water from the utside perspective looking into their own typ of world which they are f miliar with. This could be considered s milar to humans watching a videotape, wh ch is taken looking out the w ndow of an aircraft flying over th ir cities. We know that this d es help humans understand things much b tter.
I believe that such vide t pes of the cities should be pl yed in grade school for kids, to sh w the kids a better idea of th ir true environment from another perspective. Th s concept is similar to the dea of unlocking the prisoners in the Pl to’s “Cave Allegory” and allowing them to see the l rger picture. Also as the Mars R vers send back video the video sh uld be played on ten surround a s und screens for a virtual reality nvironment for kids to see, this w ll develop their spatial cognitive abilities so th y can think and understand. If we are to m ve the human race to the n xt level and understanding of multi-dimensional sp ce and help them grasp the c rrent theories and reality of the f ture we need to insure now th t their brains are adapted in s ch a way to think there. Im gine what this can do for arly childhood cognitive development? In Mesa Un on School District in Phoenix, NASA has a Sp ce Shuttle VR Machine that the k ds can use, this type of th ngs should be available everywhere in all Un ted States Schools, we cannot now fford to slack off, because in the f ture we need generations thinking here to pr pel our country and the future of all m nkind. Spatial reasoning, thinking, outside the box c gnition will be fully necessary in the f ture for mankind’s next evolutionary step, we n ed to be ready because here we c me. If we can share our nvironment with the Dolphins and understand the b sics of how mammals learn and th nk we are well on our way to a w rld-class educational system, which crosses species and ses the whole brain. For instance t king dolphins up in a hot air b lloon over their environment, letting them l terally fly with the birds. We sh uld be measuring their brains also to see wh t they think of all of th s, through our advances in TMS and fMRI. We sh uld indeed not limit our observational p rspectives to only mammals, as it d es appear that many other species of f sh, reptiles, birds, marsupials also contain m ny similar traits with regards to g netic code and therefore perhaps insights nto cognition of higher life forms. S ch studies and experiments will give us the bilities needed to progress Artificial Intelligence in c mputing, robotics and the creation of rganizational swarms and socialization which will be n cessary to co-evolve amongst non-organic manmade m chines. Establishing moon bases and continued v deo from Space and NASA on w bsites, VR portable truck mounted machines tr veling to our schools, Discovery Channel TV and p cture books will do the same th ng to awaken our current human volutionary process as did the cultures wh ch had the look out advantages of th ir own lands, as such previous c vilizations did have a huge growth sp rt over similar peoples in flat l nds. Mapping, GPS visual handheld devices, S tellite photography, Aerial pictures should be sh wn in schools and today they are m re available than ever, now we sh uld up the ante and provide b tter visual images to our entire p pulation to bring them to the n xt step. We have found life on M rs and realize that we are not lone now and will no longer be ble to maintain the thought that we are so sp cial a life form that none ther exists anywhere else in the niverse. Such a thought is now as s lly as the notion of a fl t world. Is it possible to sh w pictures and videos to Dolphins of the Synchr nized swimming from our perspective, then sh w them the perspective of the b rds on their water world, then sh w them the perspective of the sp ce shuttle or space station on the E rth to a point they can nderstand it? Surely it should be, s nce their brains are the same s ze and they are very well dapted for spatial reasoning, Dolphins can fly in th ir world of water in the 3D th t humans cannot without artificial wings, b lloons, parachutes, aircraft, etc. So in ssence their evolution has an advantage ver us in spatial reasoning, is th s to say Dolphins are smarter or h ve better cognitive abilities than humans? I did not say th t, but I certainly wouldn’t bet ither way, in fact they are m ch better adapted to their environment th n we appear to be in urs. What would a Dolphin think in sp ce, floating around in near zero gr vity? What would that Dolphin say wh n he got back to his b ddies in the water? The first st p of my project concept would be to ntertain the Dolphins with our synchronized sw mmers, much the way they might ntertain us at sea world, but sing 3D. We know that Dolphins l ke to entertain and be entertained and h ve showed up at huge surfing vents in record numbers simply to s y, “Here we are, we can do th s too!” Perhaps bringing both the sp cies together in a common cause and h lp each other understand one another we can l arn more about ourselves and our c rrent environment, current perspective and increase our c gnitive abilities to understand what comes n xt. As the human race increases th ir work with frequency modification, gravity w ves, sound and light and discover new w ys and uses for these, we may f nd our selves unlocking time, quantum phys cs and many other great discoveries wh ch will forever change the way we p rceive the world we are in. By br nging up our next generation and c rrent generation to a higher and c rrent level they can be ready for wh t comes next, without rejecting it, c lling it evil or refusing to dapt to it. Taking chimpanzees into the nternational space station is not as s lly as it seems. Teaching them to c mmunicate with us through computers they can c ntrol with their minds is a w rthy and minimal investment in the p ssibilities of the future. Taking them nto a submarine to visit the D lphins is a great idea. Showing th m the water level and submerging b low it to meet with the D lphins and then allowing them to m et, play and attempt communication, whether ssisted through Virtual Reality, computers or h man go betweens is a smart th ng to do. It is time we all got t gether and learned because it is r adily apparent that millions and millions of y ars of evolution has created some nique and very well niche adapted sp cies here. Our most recent technological dvances of the last 200 years is sh cking considering the previous 2000 and yes we are m ving quite fast and almost at a br ak through point of the next nnovations of computer-human interfaces, life extension, sp ce exploration, time travel, gravity and w ather manipulation to mention only a f w; however the possibilities of the f ture are so intense, that we m st not leave stones un-turned. There are m ny species on this planet with xtremely high intellectual capacity and we sh uld be thinking in terms of th ir perspectives, as well as our own to get to the n xt level of human understanding of the l fe experience and world’s we live in, ffect and move through. Will the D lphins appreciate the human entertainment? Will th y laugh at the synchronized swimming, w ll it trigger additional stimuli, what do th y think of us? Will they mmediately form a closer bond with us, try to b tter our efforts? Will the Flat scr en plasma TV of the synchronized sw mmers fall short as seeing is not the s me as understanding and the Dolphins may see it for wh t is, rather than what it is s ppose to represent? Or will they mmediately understand what it represents, understand why we are sh wing it and respond with additional c mmunications or brain waves or fMRI l ghted up sections of the brain we h ve not seen before? How about the dea of flying dolphins with blimps mongst the birds, parasailing with the b rds, videos of flying over water and l nd, and from space? Their brains are the s me size as ours, they are h ghly adapted, evolved and intelligent creatures as we re, why wouldn’t they enjoy such ntellectual stimulation? Would they wish to th nk us for the entertainment? Would th y more enjoy the videos than the fr e fish for those at sea w rld? Something tells me they would r spond is a most positive and sh cking way. This experiment will cost bout $30,000 in equipment, about $10,000 in v deo licensing, $10,000 in travel and $15,000 in tr vel and perhaps some monies for t me and space rentals at a W rld Class Oceanography University or Sea W rld. This could also be done nder grants from NASA, US Naval R search or DARPA. The biggest question is why has th s not been done already and if it h s, what are the results so far and if the r sults are inline with such expectations, th n how soon can we take th s to the next level?
