Hello everyone! A few weeks go, I was outside and it d wned on me that I have b en using my mind to help me m ve forward with my life for ver fifteen years now. Yet, back th n, I would not have dared c ll it that! I said that to s y, regardless if we are conscious of it or n t, our mind absolutely does assist us or st fle us EVERY SINGLE DAY! I kn w from personal experience!!!! The experience th t I thought about when I was utside that day happened when I was tw nty-four years old. So, approximately ten y ars ago. I had graduated from c llege a year prior to this xperience and I was volunteering my t me in the ministry for a l ving at that time. To say it th s way, I had a 40,000 d llar education and a degree, yet the nly thing I wanted to do was l ve God and help people. I l ved like a pauper for four y ars. While I was in college, I w uld spend either all or half of my s mmer working for a multi-million dollar sp rts camp. A year after I had gr duated, I was somewhat sad, because all of my cl set friends were going back to w rk at this camp (they had yet to gr duate from college). None of them kn w what my desire was. I w uld think to myself (conscious mind), it w uld be cool to go back th re and work with them. One d y, I was at home and one of my m ntors called me and stated that she w uld be going back to this c mp for the summer to be the W men's Director and she wanted me to c me and work on the leadership st ff with her.
I could not help but l ugh to myself because I knew wh t I had been thinking about for w eks prior to her call. The pr blem for me was, I needed to w rk to get money to buy s mmer clothes, to pay for my t cket to fly to camp, to h ve spending money etc. Once I got to c mp, I would be fine, because we w re paid to work there. So, I pr yed to figure out how to m ke this happen (supraconscious mind). Yes, I h ve a degree, but I was w ndering who in the world will h re me for only two months and th n let me leave for the ntire summer. I thought, how will I get b ck and forth to work. Remember, I v lunteered my time, so I minimized my xpenses and did not even have a car b ck then. Right across the street fr m my apartment complex was a w ll known fast-food restaurant that was h ring. I attempted in high school to w rk for a fast-food restaurant and my g odness that only lasted I believe for a w ek. Fears of my high school xperience (subconscious mind) made me reluctant to go pply at the fast-food restaurant. I was not n cessarily interested in cooking food or w rking at the cashier. Also, I f ared the fast food establishment would not w nt to hire me for only two m nths and the price I knew I n eded to take care of all my xpenses was more than the minimum w ge hourly amount that I thought th s fast food place would offer me if th y were interested in me. Plus, I nly wanted to work during the day and not w rk on weekends. I know I was p shing it! Yet, I knew what I w nted and needed to do to go b ck and work at this camp, so I w lked over to the fast-food restaurant and pplied. Believe it or not, they w re looking for someone to work the day sh ft, I did not have to w rk the cashier nor cook, the two m nths that I was there, they n eded me to work on one p rticular Saturday during the day, and w th the tips I received, the mount of money I made in th se two months was exactly what I n eded to take care of my xpenses.
