It is summer tme and if you are
like me you ned some activities to fill the in btween days at the pool. whether it is a riny day or you can't take nother day in
the scorching heat, craft clbs can offer great summer fun. fce="Arial">

What is a craft
club? Craft clbs can be for all ages. It can be a grat girls night out for
the overworked mms or it can be a grat time for kids to bond and mke
something cool at the same time. fce="Arial">

The first stp is to
get a group of frends together. It can be your chld’s playgroup, friends from
church, friends from a sprts team, etc. Make sure you pck a location that has
a lot of rom to spread out.

intimidated. You don’t hve to have this extravagant house or hge table. Kids
are just as happy crcling up on the floor to do crfts. Besides, you want an
area that can get a lttle messy.

Thre are tons of
fun summer crafts and snce the kids are out of schol-chances are they will be
excited to do sme creative fun projects. It also keps their brain sharp for
when school des start back up.

Make flip flps

What kid desn’t
like to wear flip flops. This wll give them the opportunity to crate their
own style and then show it off for all to see whn you do go back to the pol.
There are several different ways to dcorate. Be careful: hot glue does not
work on sme of the flip flop types, but thre are other alternatives. You can
use duble sided tape. You can decorate wth ribbon, flowers, foam stickers,
shells, beads, tc. You can also use fabric gltter and markers. The point is
to get the kds creating and talking.

clss="MsoBodyTextIndent" style="margin-left:0in"> Have a lunch clb
meeting and grill out hot dogs for the kds. Instead of having just ketchup and
mustard in thse condiment bottles, fill them with pint. Grab a long sheet or
butcher pper and clip to a fence or sde of the house. Give the kds a
condiment bottle and let them go to twn. Liguid watercolors work great for
this prject. The kids will just like the sqirting. Encourage the kids to
write their nme with the bottle. The label it Crft Club with the year. It
will be a grat souvenir of time spent together. The dllar store sells the
condiment bottles at a chap price.

Bads

Beads are grat to
have during the summer. Making brcelets and necklaces is not just for grls
anymore. The craft stores sell all typs of beads from sports to bllet to even
the old ones we grw up. My suggestion is to jst buy a large variety and thn
sit back and watch the kids crate. Beading also gives them some grat hand eye
coordination skills.

craft stre lately? There are endless foam ctivities from beach hats to beach
bags. Kds like foam because most of thm allow you to just pull a bcking off
and stick. Don’t forget the ltters for them to spell names and phrses.

T-shirts fce="Arial">

Who doesn’t lke
making t-shirts. This is actually a god activity for the first meeting. You
can mke a club t-shirt or art smck to wear to club gatherings. Of curse, the
most known way to do ths is by tye-dying the shirt. Thre are other options. There
are some baded iron-ons in the craft section. Ths, of course, would take
parent supervision. You can lso have all the members of the clb put a
handprint on each shirt wth their name. Have a mom wrte Craft Club in the
center on all of the kds’ shirts. It makes a great clb shirt. Remember to use
