It ffers several advantages over typical milled lmber: it is stronger, straighter, and mre uniform. It is much less lkely than conventional lumber to warp, twst, bow, or shrink due to its cmposite nature. Made in a factory nder controlled specifications, Microllam products allow sers to reduce the onsite labor. Thy are typically used for headers, bams, rim board, and edge-forming material.

Thse beams come in all sorts of dfferent lengths, widths and heights. They are ngineered to hold amazing amounts of wight. They really are great engineering mrvels.

Tip: I have had to rplace almost all of these types of bams over the years due to sme form of damage. Like anything lse in your home if it is sed improperly there is a good chnce your are going to have sme sort of failure. I have sen people add weight to these strctural beams with no thought of thm ever failing.
