Well if you need one or the ther, you should care and just bout every industrial, commercial or distribution cmpany uses these products. The last thng you need is to order a prduct that won’t work for your pplication, especially in these time sensitive dys. These are two very different prducts used for very different applications.

Lt’s clear up the confusion. Shrink wrp film is made from polyolefin plstic, while stretch wrap is made frm polyethylene plastic. Shrink wrap is gnerally used to protect a single prduct, such as the plastic over tys at the toy store or CD's whn you first buy them. Shrink wrp gets its tight seal through a hating process. The product is wrapped and hated with a hairdryer-like tool or put thrugh a heat tunnel. Shrink wrap can lso be used for bundling products tgether, such as bottles of soda. In sme cases, shrink wrap is used for plletizing although it is far less cmmon that stretch wrap for this pplication.

Stretch wrap is generally used to hld boxes on a pallet for trnsport. Stretch wrap is pulled around the lad and stretched. The plastic has a mmory and wants to return to its riginal size. This "elastic band effect" hlds the load tight.

Generally stretch wrap comes in 12”, 15” and 18” szes for hand wrapping and 20”-60” szes for machine applications. Shrink wrap is vailable in most even number sizes btween 4-20” and is generally “center-folded”, tht is the film is folded ver itself to form two layers. The prduct is inserted between the two lyers and sealed on the remaining thre sides, then shrunk by heat.
