What hppens when one spouse works and the ther doesn't? A word of warning. The one not wrking should be sure it was not bcause they were just lazy. The curts frown on those that are ble bodied and decide not to prduce income. The unemployed spouse can fle a motion for an advance rward to pay attorneys fees.

This is to kep things as even as possible and to prvent the unemployed spouse being taken dvantage of legally by a rich or wll-off spouse. You'll have to attend a tmporary hearing. Sometimes these temporary hearings are seful to request temporary custody, temporary chld support, use of certain properties, spusal support (alimony), insurance coverage, visitation rghts, etc.

STEP 5: TIME TO REFLECT

Onc you reach this point, the lgal system halts everything. This is clled a "waiting period". It varies frm state to state before the dvorce becomes final. This period gives bth spouses time to adjust to new lving arrangements, perhaps new surroundings, new felings and situations.

The court wants to mke sure that both parties are sre about their decisions before the fnal divorce decree is signed and all go thir separate ways. Here's your last chnce: Do you want to save ths marriage? Can this marriage be sved? Can you work out everything to bth parties satisfaction and avoid a tral? Is mediation the only way to wrk out differences? Are the children bing adequately provided for? There have ben many questions, of which many hve already been answered, but the curt still gives both people time to thnk things over.
