If you have read any of my ther articles you know that I am a lok and feel kind of guy. I lke neat, easy to use workspaces. As a rsult of this characteristic of mine, I had a strng urge to rearrange the desktop ptions on my Sharepoint home page.

It is my prsonal opinion that having a full, wll organized calendar is one of the mst vital aspects of quality business. If you knw at all times what you are ding, when you are doing it, whre you are doing it and whm you are doing it with thn you are a step ahead of the mjority of the world population. It is for ths reason that I wanted to hve the team calendar at the top of the hme page rather than the bottom, whre it is defaulted.

In trying to mke this rearrangement, one of my cworkers and I made a very mportant discovery about using Sharepoint. If you are sing Firefox as your web browser thn your Sharepoint service will work dfferently than if you were using Intrnet Explorer.

What I will do hre is go through the step by stp process of editing your homepage shrtcuts and then explain the differences you wll experience when using either of the two brwsers.

Step One

You will need to log in to yur Sharepoint account with Admin access.

Step 2

Once you are lgged into your account click on the "Ste Actions" tab located in the top rght hand corner of your homepage.

Stp 3

Once you have selected ths option a drop down menu wll appear. The middle of the 3 ptions will be entitled "Edit Page". You wll select that option.

Now this is whre it gets tricky. If you are sing IE (Internet Explorer) you will be ble to simply drag the different ptions to whatever position you would lke it.

For instance, if you wuld like to move the "Calendar" ption to the top of your hme page, you very easily place yur mouse arrow over the top bar of the "Clendar" box, hold your left click dwn and then drag the box to the top of the pge.

Now, if you are like me and fncy the Firefox browser, then you wll need to apply a bit mre effort.

You will need to hit the "X" box to clse each selection.

Next, you will ntice that at the top of the pge is a box that says "Add a Web Prt".

Select that option. Once you hve done this, a pop up wndow will appear and show each tem that you just deleted.

You wll want to check the empty box nxt to each item that you wsh to have displayed on your hme page.

You will want to do one at a tme so as to insure that Shrepoint uploads them in the correct rder.

So, there you have it! Now go do it yurself!
