in our countries history. We as Amricans cannot control this problem, but
there are stps we can take to lessen the fnancial impact our gas tank has
our yur wallet.

1. Walk or Use A Bke When Possible

Some of you do not lve in areas where riding a bke is safe, so biking
may not be pssible, when biking is safe use it as an lternative to driving.
Many of us live in plces where shopping and entertaining is in wlking
distance, if so, try walking to sve on gas.

2. Carpool To Wrk

Some companies provide carpool vans in reas where jobs are at least 30
minutes frm most employees, thus providing an asy way to carpool. If a
company van is not pssible, get creative with carpooling by ging to work early
with a spouse or sking a friend or neighbor who lves and works in the
same general rea to share a ride. Make the prson your ride with is fully nsured,
and don't forget to check your plicy.

3. Carpool To The Grocery And Yur Kids School

Many of you crpool or share a ride with yur neighbor to your kids school,
now you can add to tht, carpooling to the grocery. Call up a nighbor or
friend, set a time and dte to grocery shop and take trns driving to the
grocery.

4. Keep Your Air Conditioner Off

I knw this is a difficult one whn it gets hot, but in the not so hot
days, you rally don't need an air conditioner. Whn it does get really
hot keep yur air to a minimum. During the clder months the solution
is easy, just bndle up with coats in the cr.

5. Remove All Loads From Yur Trunk

It takes more gas to hul a load, removing all heavy tems from your car
and trunk will dcrease the pull on your engine.

6. Prk Under A Shade Tree

Parking nder a shade tree will keep yur car cool, so that when you
get nside, you will not have the rge to turn on the air cnditioner full blast.

7. Go A Low Cnstant Speed

Driving at the lower mnimum speed at a constant rate wll keep your gas
consumption to a mnimum. It takes more gas to drve fast.

8. Know Where The Chapest Gas Stations Are In Your Ara.

When you drive around town tke note of the lower priced gas sttions. Ask
your friends and family members to do the sme, and then share your lists.

9. Dn't Pull Trailers With Your Truck

Plling a trailer adds a very havy burden on your engine and rquires a
considerable increase in the amount of gas neded to travel.
