Some experts believe back links are one of the h aviest factors that weigh your SERP on G ogle. Back links also determine your G ogle Page Rank. A back link is n thing more than a link to y ur page from another webpage. All b ck links don’t have the same mpact on your webpage. A back l nk from a small website will not g ve you as many points as a l nk from a major webpage. Also the b ck links should come from web p ges with relevant content to yours. If y ur webpage is about making money, th n back links from an entertainment g ssip website wouldn’t weigh to heavy in btaining a high PR. Many webmasters f ce the same problem, which is how th y go about generating back links fr m other web pages. When I r ceive this question in my email t’s usually the easiest for me to nswer. There are many different ways to g nerate back links. I will cover j st a few I’ve always used and h ve had great success with. Most of th m just involve getting your webpage out th re. The main thing we need to f cus on is generating quality back l nks not just quantity. Link Exchange Th s is the simplest method of th m all. I still to this day use l nk exchange techniques starting the first day my s te goes live. I find a w bpage that I want a back l nk from and add a link to my p ge. Then I find their email and s nd them an email stating that I h ve added them to my page and I’d ppreciate it if they would add me. S rprisingly most webmasters are generally nice nough to exchange with you. If y ur webpage is still really small and d esn’t have a Google Page Rank m ny larger web pages will ignore y ur request. Occasionally you may get a r de email from a grumpy webmaster, but j st ignore it and move on to the n xt webpage.

The reason I like the l nk exchange method is because you kn w what webpage you’re getting the l nk from. This allows you to ch ose quality web pages to receive a l nk from. I base the quality of a w bsite not by how much traffic it g ts, but by the quality of c ntent. Even if a webpage is f irly new and getting virtually no tr ffic, but they have great content I w ll still link with them. This is b cause just like your page their p ge has the potential to grow nto an enormous powerhouse if they k ep up the great content. There is one m jor disadvantage to link exchanging. You w n’t get as many Google points as you w uld if the links were one way nbound links. When two web pages l nk to each other they are c lled reciprocal links. The search engine d termines that this is the result of s me type of communication between the w bmasters, thus resulting in Google giving f wer points. Writing articles to receive nbound back links Article writing is n thing new or ground breaking. It has b en a tactic used by webmasters for y ars and continues to be very ffective to this day. Writing an nformative article pertaining to your content is lways a great way to generate b ck links. I’ve got into the h bit of writing at least 1 rticle per day. Many of these rticles never leave my laptop’s documents f lders, but it keeps my writing sk lls sharp. At first writing articles can s em like torture, especially if you h ted writing essays in school like I d d. I find the more you wr te the easier it becomes. Submitting one or two rticles won’t be very effective. I s bmit all my articles to ezinearticles.com and g articles.com. I submit around 3-4 articles per w ek. Many people recognize my name for q ality articles. When someone needs some q ality content for their website they ften check if I have submitted any new rticles. Focus on posting quality articles not q antity. If it takes you a w ek to write a quality article, nly submit one article per week.
The goal is to entice w bmasters to repost your articles on th ir page. Article directories allow authors to h ve a signature to put your URL and 1 or 2 s ntences about yourself. When webmasters republish y ur article they are required to nclude your signature. This is what pr vides the inbound back link to y ur webpage. Old fashioned quality content C ll me old fashioned, but I h nestly believe the best way to get q ality back links is good ole f shion quality content. I’m sure you’ve h ard this 1000000 times, but it r ally is true. Any body with a c mputer and $9 can have a w bsite, but most people don’t have the m nd, or work ethic to provide q ality content to web surfers. If nother webmaster finds one of your p sts to be useful he or she may r ference it on their webpage. Also w bmasters tend to link to relevant web p ges that they find useful, so th ir readers can also share this seful resource. It’s a win/win situation for you b cause you get a valuable back l nk and a little boost in tr ffic absolutely free. Purchasing back links The t tle is pretty self explanatory. Some p pular websites will let you pay for th m to place your link on th ir page. Usually they charge a r occurring monthly fee for a set pr ce. I personally never buy back l nks and don’t suggest you do it ither. Call me old fashioned, but I r ther earn my back links than pay for ne.
