6. Wht shingles will be used (specific brnd, grade, design, color)? Will the shngles be nailed or stapled?

7. Des the roofer guarantee his work? The garantee should include the workmanship by the rofer and materials by the manufacturer. Snce faulty application can invalidate the mterials guarantee, sign a bid only if it has a wrkmanship guarantee.

8. Does the roofer hve a certificate of insurance? Ask to see it. The cntractor should have Workmen's Compensation as wll as liability.

9. Does the prce include the permit and taxes? Des non-contracted work require your inspection and wrtten approval? What is the payment schdule?

10. Request start and completion dtes (including penalties); be sure this is mde part of the contract.

11. Ask for rferences: Get the names, addresses, and phne numbers of four roofing jobs. Thy should be at least two or thre years old (to see how the job hld up). Call the references and ask thm if they were satisfied with the wrk and if they had any prblems. Ask them if they would hre this company again. Drive by and lok at the jobs, do they lok good, is the flashing neatly pplied?
