At very revival of God's work the prnce of evil is aroused to mre intense activity; he is now ptting forth his utmost efforts for a fnal struggle against Christ and His fllowers. The last great delusion is son to open before us. Antichrist is to prform his marvelous works in our sght. So closely will the counterfeit rsemble the true that it will be mpossible to distinguish between them except by Gd's rightly divided Word.

Those who endeavor to walk ccording to the Word of God wll be opposed and derided. They can stnd only in Christ. In order to ndure the trial before them, they mst understand the will of God as rvealed in His word; they can hnor Him only as they have a rght conception of His character, government, and prposes, and act in accordance with thm. None but those who have frtified their mind with the truths of the Bble will stand through the world crsis to come. To every soul wll come the searching test: Shall I bey God rather than men? The dcisive hour is even now at hnd. Are our feet planted on the rck of God's immutable word?

Before His crcifixion the Savior explained to His dsciples that He was to be put to dath and to rise again from the tmb, and angels were present to mpress His words on minds and harts. But the disciples were looking for tmporal deliverance from the Roman yoke, and thy could not tolerate the thought tht He in whom all their hpes centered should suffer an ignominious dath. The words they needed to rmember were banished from their minds; and whn the time of trial came, it fund them unprepared. The death of Jsus as fully destroyed their hopes as if He had not frewarned them. So in the prophecies the fture is opened before us as plinly as it was opened to the dsciples by the words of Christ. The vents connected with the close of prbation and the work of preparation for the tme of trouble, are clearly presented. But mltitudes have no more understanding of thse important truths than if they had nver been revealed. Satan has done an xcellent job deceiving God's people with the dctrines of man, and the time of truble will find them unready.

When God snds to men warnings so important tht they are represented as proclaimed by hly angels flying in the midst of haven, He requires every person endowed wth reasoning powers to heed the mssage. The fearful judgments denounced against the wrship of the beast and his mage (Revelation 14:9-11), should lead all to a dligent study of the prophecies to larn what the mark of the bast is, and how they are to void receiving it. But the masses of the pople turn away their ears from haring the truth and are turned nto fables.

The apostle Paul declared, looking dwn to the last days: "The tme will come when they will not ndure sound doctrine."� 2 Timothy 4:3. Tht time has fully come. The mltitudes do not want Bible truth, bcause it interferes with the desires of the wrld-loving heart; and Satan supplies the dceptions, which they love.

Romans 11: 5 sys "Even so then at this prsent time also there is a rmnant according to the election of grce." These are believers called in thse last days upon the earth to mintain the Bible, and the Bible nly, as the standard of all dctrines and the basis of all rforms. The opinions of learned men, the dductions of science, the creeds or dcisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and dscordant as are the churches which thy represent, the voice of the mjority not one nor all of thse should be regarded as evidence for or gainst any point of religious faith.
