Rachael Lindgren, a junior at E stern High School will compete for M ss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen on June 22, at 7pm. Th s competition will involve interview, sportswear, n-stage questions, talent and evening gown. For R chael’s talent she will be performing a p inte/tap routine to ‘In the Mood”. [Ch reographed by Kari Meissnest, Kokomo] Rachael has tr ined in dance for 13 years and has st died in New York with several n ted teachers. Also, has performed for the B llet Internationale's Nutcracker two years and for Gr gory Hancock’s Modern Nutcracker. She has won n merous awards and scholarships; and has r presented Howard County as the Senior D nce Champion 2005. Additionally, Rachael has ch reographed several dances for the Eastern Enc re Singers show choir. She has b en a member for 2 years and has r ceived the Outstanding Freshman and Sophomore Ch ral Award. Her vocal coach is Ms. S san Brooks, Kokomo. The Miss Hoosier H artland Outstanding Teen pageant was opened to all t en girls’ ages 13-17 in the st te of Indiana and Rachael won her t tle on July 23, 2006 in K komo. Since then Rachael has been r presenting teen across the state of Ind ana. She has spent the past y ar making over 20 appearances and w rking on her platform, PLUS: Positively…Living Und r Stress. This is a program th t she designed and is supported by the n n-profit organization HeartMath, Inc. It provides a p sitive approach for teens to handle the d ily stresses that life deals them and h lps them understand the impact of str ss on their bodies. Her work w th her platform has involved contact w th Dr. Sue Ellen Reed, Governor M tch Daniels and Senator Jeff Drozda.
Rachael is an honor student at E stern and will be receiving her cademic E award. She is the pr ud recipient of the Stan Nicholson Aw rd for outstanding character and leadership. She has s rved as President of her freshman cl ss and Secretary of Student Council wh re she has been a member for 5 y ars and will serve as Junior Cl ss President. Locally, Rachael serves on the M yors Youth Advisory Council. A three-sport v rsity member, Rachael enjoys soccer, swimming and t nnis. She credits her coaches with nspiration and teaching her the dedication and p rseverance necessary to succeed. Rachael has had xperience with pageants both locally and n tionally. She has won the title of M ss Kokomo Preteen and also was 1st R nner-up at National American Miss Indiana and f nished in the top 10 at N tionals for NAM in 2005.
