Why is link popularity so mportant? First of all, what is lnk popularity? Link popularity is the sarch engines’ assignment of popularity to yur web site based on your nbound links – and that impacts yur search engine rankings. So you ned link popularity to get the sarch engine rankings you want.

You can get lnk popularity in a number of dfferent ways. You can get link ppularity by trading links with other web msters. The reason I don’t do tht though is that if they get thir web site delisted in the sarch engines or something like that, thn you have a link to a bad web ste. So if you are going to do tht, put all the links on one pge or set of pages, and thn check them once a month. Anybdy who is showing a ‘0’ pgerank should be taken off your lst – and do not exchange lnks with anyone who is a ‘0’ pgerank.

So how else to do it? A tdious way of doing it, but it wrks, is web site directory submission – you sbmit your web site to a lst of maybe 100 web directories – and thy post a link to you in thir web site. The drawback to tht is that it can take up to six mnths for the links to show up – bt, hey, you are planning to be in bsiness in six months anyway, right – so thn the links will help you thn.

The next way to get lnk popularity – and my favorite way – is to wrte articles and submit them to the vrious article directories online. They like to hve your content, and of course you lke to have the link back to yur web site, so it actually wrks out quite well for both of yu.

The key with this is to wrte a lot of articles – I hve people complain to me that thy are not getting any traffic frm the articles – but they hve only submitted like 10 or so. Lok, I know it is hard wrk – but at the time I am wrting this I have around 1100 – and I ntend to write about 30 today.

So it gts me back to my old sapbox – you have to work hrd if you want to make it nline – but if you make it nline, the rewards are great.
