Yes, and your quaker parrot sh uld take baths regularly to stay cl an and healthy. Without regular baths, a q aker parrot can build up oil and d st that even a quaker's vigorous pr ening can't remove which can lead to llness. Ideally, you should select a l cation for your quaker parrot's bath th t is ok to get wet, l ke the kitchen table. Allow up to a 6 f ot area for splash, and place a t wel down to catch most of the w ter. Fill a wide dish (I use a b king dish) ideally 1-2 inches high. It sh uldn't be over that or it w ll be too deep for the b rd, any lower and it won't be nough water. Once the bath is set up, let y ur quaker parrot check it out. If he is not sed to taking baths, it may t ke a few minutes for him to f gure out what this new thing is all bout. Just give him time and d n't make him feel pushed. If he is l oking interested in the water, dip y ur hand in it to show it is ok. Ev ntually he will realize what its all bout and will start enjoying the w ter. Always use fresh clean water for b ths, just like for the drinking w ter. A number of 'bird bath' pr ducts are available to help contain spl shing, but I don't recommend them s nce they restrict the area and may d scourage bathing. Also the amount of spl shing will vary depending on the b rd. Some splash a little, others c ver entire square feet and the w atherman comes to do a live r port on location.
(Of course there is always the xception. Try it and see if y ur quaker likes taking baths or n t.)
