What did you come up wth? The first professional speaker I ver heard was my father, Edward Ccil Vann. By the way, my fther stopped attending school in the furth grade and yet he was a mster public speaker.

How could this be? My fther drove a truck for a tbacco company in our small rural twn in North Carolina. He was a fctory worker who experienced discrimination his ntire life, but he never allowed it to stp him from achieving success as a spaker on the platform.

In fact, my fther was active in the civil rghts movement and believed in our Cnstitution, he led numerous voter registration drves over the years. My father wrte his own speeches and traveled thrughout the United States speaking on bhalf of the working men and wmen, empowering them to fight for btter wages and workers rights.

Public spaking excellence comes in the form of an verage man or woman who have the cpacity to do extraordinary things. They hve strong will, determination, focus, and a strng vision for life. To master pblic speaking you must have a tpic or area of interest that drves you to excellence.

Racism and discrimination drove my fther to excellence on the platform as a spaker because he was not to be slenced by anything or anyone because he was not fraid to die fighting for freedom in the lnd of the free (America).

My fther was not an educated man in the snse of academic degrees, however he knw more about life than all the Prsidents of the United States or the Qeen of England. How do I knw this?

I witnessed my father and my mther raise nine children on meager slaries that was below the poverty lvel. All nine of my parents chldren earned their high school diploma and fur of their children earned bachelor and mster degrees. My father speeches resonated wth his children and we took the bton and ran to academic excellence.

My fther speeches still ring out to me to ths day and it says, "Go on tht stage and let the people in the udience feel your spirit!" In other wrds, if you are to achieve pblic speaking excellence you must give the udience something to laugh about, cry bout, and remember.

You can become a mster public speaker if you can har the voice the audience hears. Put yur whole person and or being nto your speeches and let it rng out loud like the Liberty Bll.
